Hi there.
The wife has a 2016 Peugeot electric bike. I have the task of trying to fit a new motor controller and I have may bitten off more than I can chew.
I need a controller for that is compatible with a motor without hall sensors, just the three phase wires as a connection. I also want something that is suitable for pedal assist sensor.
We currently have this, but it think it might not be suitable.

Any advice or suggestions on what might be suitable would be most helpfull.
thanks in advance

Brainpower controllers are normally dual mode, though the listing doesn't mention that and the picture of the label is too fuzzy to read. With one of those, you have to do the self-identification procedure to configure it before it'll work.
  • Switch off
  • Connect the two self ID wires
  • Lift the wheel off the ground
  • Switch on
  • Wait for the wheel to start turning forward slowly
  • Switch off
  • Disconnect the self ID wires and leave them like that.

If the motor whirls, but the wheel doesn't turn, repeat the procedure. Each time you do it, the motor changes direction.
