Indeed, many of us couldn't live without them, but don't rely on them holding your 7kg battery for long on a rear rack

Thats what duct tape is for, if it can hold my car bumper in position, battery no problem,

Actually, a rather large cable tie is acting as the piece of string which backs up the belt and braces securing the battery to my wife's second hand urban mover.;-)

Brings back memories of the day I was hurtling fast down a steep hill and the spare battery I had bungeed onto the rack overtook me.
