Hi,

I own a Kalkhoff Agattu with 26V 18Ah Panasonic battery, and I'm loving it. Now I'd like to start a new bike project, but it would be waste to buy second battery. It seems that there is no ebike-conversion kits for 26V system, only 24/36/48V. So would it be possible to use 26V battery with 24V drive system? Should I need some kind of regulator or..?

Yes you can. The 24, 36 and 48v are nominal figures.

Typically, the BMZ 18ah battery comes off the charger at around 29 volts, with low voltage cut-off at around 20.5 volts.

36 volt system batteries operate between 40 volts fully charged, down to 31.5 volts when empty. 48 volt systems start at around 51 volts and so on.

Very few controllers have reverse polarity protection, so a little care is needed when connecting the battery to the kit's controller. Get it wrong, and the controller will be ruined.

All the best
Bob
