Well my hacking on the Ego is complete and it was very simple
I snipped the kill switch wires and taped up carefully against water.
I took off the crank and removed the sensor plate, just slips off
and thats it.
I am now fully twist and go and for my journeys thats great.
One thing I noticed is that I can throttle off easy and pedal along on the flat without using any juice - quite comfortable. With the pedelec, its using juice all the time even though you dont want it on the flat. You could pop the off sw to save juice, but then it takes time to switch on again and you mustnt pedal, so thats a significant negative.
Maybe this pedelec thing is a super hyped piece of buffel scheise. Its certainly rubbish on a hub motor IMHO

I wouldn't be without a pedal sensor. On most modern controllers, you can cut the power right down or even to level zero (no power). It's mainly the very cheap ones that have it less adjustable. If you don't like your one, you don't have to remove it. You only have to cut the red wire about an inch from the connector and run the two ends to a switch. You can then switch it on and off.

Not all controllers that use crank rotation sensors have the delay when you start pedalling nor the run-on when you stop pedalling. My Xiongda one is instant. It's so instant that when I lost one of the 10 magnets from the disc, there was a micro-pause in motor power for each rotation of the crank. The manufacturer is Kunteng.

You should never disable the kill switches unless they're proven to be faulty, which is quite rare. Even then, you don't have to cut anything. You just unplug them at the connector. They all have connectors.

I'll just say I use pas 99% of the time on the road, only using throttle to get going & to stand up & give my backside a breather on a long ride.

Offroad, I use throttle 99% of the time for tricky single track.

The pas system on my Ezee kit is far more user-friendly than yours.

it's a very subjective thing, but I like the cycling part - a pedelecs is to me a bionically enhanced version of a pre-war sunbeam roadster - something that provides Olympic levels of performance from the kind of gentle input one might give a roadster on the way to the pub, so no in my case the pedelec bit is vital, otherwise I feel as if im on moped. but for the pedelecs bit to matter one has to be on a proper bicycle with good ergonomics, and the Viking may not be this kind of design
