I bought a vitesse flare e bike a couple of years ago. I am having trouble sourcing a new battery. Any advice welcomed.

Unfortunately getting the battery out of the frame, I am told is not easy for an amateur person.

If feasible would a generic bolt on or rack, additional battery be an acceptable solution?

I'd be surprised if any bike specialist knows how to do it or would want to. By the looks of it, you remove the forks, remove the plate on the front of the steeering head and pull the battery out through the hole.
