I have been in contact with a buyer of the following bikes being sold on eBay
Electric touring bike (up to 60 miles per charge)Li-ION on eBay, also, Bikes, Cycling, Sporting Goods (end time 31-Dec-08 16:30:59 GMT)

When asked for the buyers opinion, his response was as follows
"i am having lots of problems. Suggest you look elsewhere."

I thought it didn't look good as they do not accept returns, you cannot collect, PayPal only and they do not respond to enquiries.

Please not this bike and the seller is not connected to the Voyager bought and reported on by Bob, A.K.A. Blewit!

Regards,

J:) hn

That's a shame, it seems like a good deal, OK you never know until you can see it in the flesh and get your leg over it, so to speak, but if it only lasted a couple of years and got a few peeps started.... although 60 miles seems un-likely and would irritate expectations.

still... you very much get what you pay for... and trouble carries a high price.

thanks for the warning.

A trader selling with But it now on eBay is subject to the distance selling laws and cannot refuse returns. That makes me want to back off straight away.
If I was in the market for a new bike that one would get serious consideration and I'd just assume I was buying a completely unsupported productat a huge discount, that discount would be what paid for the fault fixes.
'Lots of problems' could mean a few small problems that someone experienced could fix easily.

Keith, you know how when you buy something, eBay likes to say you have 'won' it, to make you feel good / lucky? Maybe they're applying the same logic to sellers now, calling them 'losers'? So for every bargain that someone 'wins' or as we used to call it, buys, there would then be a loser who has lost it...
Make sense?

took me reading it a couple of times to get there Frank, thought you was being sarky but no i can understand the logic in it..however people should put a reserve on items they are selling if they dont want them to go CHEAP...unless they are budgies...:)

you know how paypal keep sending you e-mails saying "buyer protection" ect....if you buy something from someone paying with paypal and they dont send you it,you then go through a claim with paypal and win..if they have withdrew all their money out of paypal you get NOTHING back..i always thought refunds was paid by insurance money from paypal but not the case..
paypal is nothing more then money passers...like a pimp who takes his money off their hooker but gives no protection to her/him if they get into trouble..

What eBay now seems to be doing is not allowing the loser to take the money out of his / her paypal account for xx days after the transaction, in case the winner turns out not to have been so lucky after all!

 embarressed to say i was one of them winners you are talking about..i "won" a 21 speed powerbyke just befor xmas...re furbished batteries an all so thought would be good to get back into shape befor spring and see if i could afford then plump for a new e bike i want, however the seat post was low down and was fast solid but never mind only 8 miles to get home so will just use throttle.......50 yards later 1 light out.. ..4 miles later total flat battery..was howling a wind and torrential rain...foolishly thought to ride it even though was 6 inches too low and gears would not get out of low third... end result was have wrecked my foot..or at least brought back old injury where when i walk and my heel lifts up at the part of the foot that bends at the base of the toes it feels like i have broke it.....cant have broke it as doesnt do it all the time but when it does it HURTS !!!!!!!!!...i blamed it originally on wearing shoes with soft soles, less stiffness then trainers...so assuming it either subsides or it isnt gout as girlfriend thinks it might be due to medical books she has...is there cycle shoes people wear or is it recommeded to wear stiff soled shoes...?.. any advice from anyone will be greatfully accepted....

as for my "win"......."loss"........ i did extensive haggeling as seller says he got it from a friend who claimed it was "good".........and have come to a sort of compromise financially...except im left to sell off once i have sorted out the gears a 21 speed powabyke with a battery that will last 4 miles....mmmm..
