Yes, it's such a pity the panasonic type bikes don't allow this option, I find it very handy, especially when going over compacted ice as I can stop pedaling and loose the side to side oscilation to get the most stability and balance control.
Throttles not allowed in Japan of course, or in the EU, and we will have that sitation as well eventually.

24.65kg - taken from the website. When you look at the price of the premium Kalkoffs then it looks reasonable value for money. I would be up for a test ride but I think it will be a bit too heavy for my liking. Love the spec tho' - a very good low maintenance commuting machine.

Thanks Pedalo

I beleive the way it works is a 28" wheel takes a C700 tyre, however they are the same.

All the best and Merry Christmas,

Double battery ???
this has only 26 volt batteries no wonder they use 2:rolleyes: The wisper has an alfine 8 geared rear hub, plus a 36volt 14amp battery. plus latest Dapush motor etc...etc..... Cutting edge stuff IMO......comparisons are laughable:p

The Giant bikes are mostly good quality, but other comparisons are not as good as they superficially appear. The battery power capacity of their twin 10 Ah 26 volt batteries is 520 Wh, the capacity of the Wisper 37 volt 14 Ah battery is 518 Wh, almost identical and lighter.

The so-called Sanyo motor is actually the old US designed Birkestrand Motorised Wheel of many years ago which Sanyo bought after Birkestrand dropped it. It's better now that the very poor regeneration feature has been discarded, but it's not up to the standards of the latest technology Dapush motor.

Panasonic's takeover of Sanyo has indeed now been finalised after many delays, but they've shown their opinion of the "Sanyo" hub motor by now designing their own advanced front hub motor instead, 3000 of which are now on trial in the Japanese market. A few of a variant have also been sold in the EU fitted in Kalkhoff bikes. It's these with which they will compete with Dapush.

I've no doubt about that, they are very reliable having been proved over time, and the performance is better now that horrible regeneration has been dropped and a freewheel included in the motor.
