I think the UK has become very much a minority market for him currently, compared with the major status it once had three years ago, others like the USA far more important and probably taking up his time.

The higher price market here which his products occupy has recently swung strongly towards European bikes and especially the Panasonic based ones, as you well know. In the USA those mostly slower European bikes don't suit their performance leisure use market, his products being more suitable and therefore more successful there.

Co-incidentally I see that Cyclepoint's director/secretary Kyra Chwg has just resigned, 30/6/2009.

I did see a report (unconfirmed) that she is related to Mr Ching, and I wonder if her name on the company reports is mis-spelt and should read Ching.

I believe that's right Bode, I'm sure I remember the same. He's competed each previous year.

I get the impression that as Flecc hints he is contributing his marketing efforts to the USA.

I have a soft spot for Mr Ching as he reminds me in many ways of my late father (comes from the same part of the world!) his son is around the same age as me and it is heartening to see both of them go on their bike rides.

Its something I missed out on due to being as close to my own Dad because of personality clashes and his own serious and ultimately terminal health problems, and Dad wouldn't ride a bicycle anyway (he did once own a motorbike in Malaya).

but when it boils down to business and value for money, when I have enough cash to buy a higher end e-bike it is most likely to be a Wisper. Although less fast it now appears to be way more reliable and the company more responsive to British / European customers (comparing the product development of the two machines over the years) - plus I am always a bit wary of machines with only one exclusive dealer...

Mr Ching does make good bikes though and would come a close second though in my choices of high end bikes..

Mr Ching

Hi

Mr Ching has been active in the last few months by personal email. As always he has been supportive to those who purchase his bikes, and has had interesting conversations with those who have not, and with other forum members. I am always amazed at his enthusiasm, a character trait enjoyed by others on this forum!

I agree that, as has been suggested, our world would be duller without him.

What a strange article that is, eZee have been well established in the USA since 2006 at least, maybe 2005.

The two main bike e-bike dealers there, Nycewheels and ElectricVehicles NW have been agents for the brand throughout, and we have some US long term eZee owners as members of this forum.

Wai Won may well be pushing for further expansion there, but that article reads almost as if they are just entering that market.
