Pity you couldn`t ride it or should it be Woosh it down to Barry Hatti. My twin Brother is thinking of an Ebike and the Sant Ana was one model together with your Sundowner that looks to fit the bill . I`m not sure the 28 inch wheel and sprung seat post of the latter would enable a 5ft 7in 74 year old to touch the floor though ! The other attraction is of course your replacement battery prices and the same goes for Kudos . I noted that one of the German Ebike replacement batteries was nearly £500 . Such prices would encourage the aspiring Ebike rider to forget all about it or buy a cheaper machine and throw it in a skip after 2 or 3 years .
When I bought my Batribike Folder 2 years ago with an 8Ah battery I knew little about Ebikes . Since then I have gleaned plenty from the Pedelec site and of course with the machine itself that has been faultless . The most important point concerns the battery . It should be powerful enough to give decent range even after it has degraded over several years, but not too powerful that it gets heavy or costs an arm and a leg to replace . Hatti`s machines seem to meet the criteria pretty well . If Ronald Reagan were alive now he would say `the frame and cycle parts can take care of themselves `!

Should be good for your brother. We are selling a lot of Sundowners to the 60 - 75 market (riders need to be reasonably tall (5 ft 7" upwards). He might also want to consider the Santana though. Why not see what old Dave has to say when he reviews it in a few days from now?
