I immediately thought of bicycle use, as they're pretty waterproof and wear-resistant, plus the rubbery finish on the fingers/palms/back will be good for handlebar gripping.
Most of the gear in the farmers' store is pretty useful for other purposes, although there are some things I wouldn't expect much non-bondage applications for.
