hi I am a little confused here do you fully charge and discharge once or twice when first having the bike thanks,and if I want to check the battery what watt meter would be a good and suitable one.

Just use the battery as you need it. charge it after each time unless you plant to go out again or it was only a short trip. Don't run it right down unless you have to. No harm will come to the battery if you do run it down unless you leave it run down.

There's several wattmeters. All of them require wiring and soldering. If you're happy with that, get one from Ebay after looking at this thread.

hi d8veh thanks for the reply and the links ,I would not feel competent to do the wiring or even now where to start, just wondering as the bike is new could attaching something like that invalidate the guarantee .I have seen one of the guys at our model boat using the waterproof one he swears by it

It shouldn't affect the warranty unless you damage something. You should use the same connectors so that you can put it in or take it out, and nobody would know. Naturally, if you changed the connectors, and did an amateurish job, then later the controller stopped working, the dealer will be very suspicious whether you caused the fault.
