Wisper 806 noise

Just bought 2 Wisper 806 Torque bikes.
Both of them when reaching 70 developed a noise on the back wheel.
It’s sounds like a rattle of the spokes but only happens if you sit down.
If you stand and lean forward it goes.
No gaps are closed and the wheel has no play in it.
Peddling makes no difference.
Electric on or off makes no difference.
Brakes touched makes no difference.
Any ideas as it’s getting worse ?

Hi, have you called your dealer or our support team? This sounds like you have lose spokes on both bikes. If you haven't yet called us please call Adrian in Dealer support on 01732 762393 and we will resolve?

I personally really do despair.

People pay some measure of a premium for bikes they buy from a dealer for the comfort of having local support and someone to hold their hand if things aren't quite right.

And yet what do they do? Scream blue bloody murder over all forms of social media instead of quietly phoning their supplying dealer for that advice and support, a dealer who is experienced and equipped to resolve their issue.

What's wrong with people? Their contract is with the supplying dealer and NOT the manufacturer, who (once again) has taken his personal time to advise on such a petty issue here.

This is not a trivial problem having spent £4,000 on bikes that now have a grinding sound from both bikes rear axles.

I’ve spoken to dealer who has no idea and needs to seek further advise . However I’m currently on a biking holiday so hoping someone can point me in the right direction so I can possibly sort myself and carry on with my holiday safely.

Last thing I need is some smart arse forum Policeman putting me down for trying all methods to sort.

So come out your bedroom and join the real world here.

Your contract of sale is with the dealer you bought the bikes from. It's for them to sort the issue, or make arrangements for the issue to be sorted, and meet the cost of rectifying same.

If they have no sensible suggestions, try a decent local bike shop that does know what they're doing, or call Wisper service direct to locate a knowledgeable dealer local to where you happen to be.

If you're in the middle of a biking holiday, how is anybody "sitting in their bedroom" likely to be able to help you this far removed when without looking at your bike it's just wild guessing.

Is there any play in the wheel laterally ?

If you can offer no help, do us all a favour and keep your ‘I’m better than you’ comments to yourself.

Is there any play in the wheel laterally ?
As suggested the noise could be loose spokes. Something I’ve never had in 60 odd years of riding a bike. Thanks to the suggestions on here I’ve held a couple of spokes in the middle and pushed and pulled them and although they don’t feel loose , a low level noise similar to the noise is produced.
I’m now trying to find out whether I can just nip those few spokes up without altering the wheel geometrics.

Ruling out spokes one can do by plucking them, hopefully they give off a nice taut ping rather then dull dmap squib of a ping.

It is the grinding noise one has said has occurred since the rattiling nosie was noticed.
If folowing one bike or riding your bike can you see any wheel movement at all, however small ?

I’ve sort of moved a couple side to side and it generates a similar noise if a little quieter though. I’m now confident this is the problem so I’m not so concerned thanks to the advice.
I’m just going to nip the noisy ones up when I get an adjuster.

The next time my Mercedes starts making funny noises 70 miles down the M4 and I'm sitting on a hard shoulder wondering what the problem might be, am I going to call a Mercedes specialist or join a forum and ask a random number of bedroom sitters with no specific experience of this bike their advice?

All I'm saying is you've already paid for specialist support when you bought the new bikes. Use it.

All I'm saying is you've already paid for specialist support when you bought the new bikes. Use it.
I’d already phoned them before I went on the forum. They offered no solution (a bit like yourself).
I find forums have many people who share similar experiences. In fact within minutes of posting the solution was offered and from a campsite in the middle of nowhere I have fixed it.
I also find on forums, pompous people like yourself who jump in without all the facts, offer no solution and yet try to belittle others.

I'm not trying to "belittle" anyone. The point is you bought two new bikes. You thought you had a problem. You have a caring manufacturer and a full dealer network at your disposal to assist you. Your first course of action should be to talk to the dealer you bought the bikes from, not wax lyrical over a public forum. I've been a member of this forum long enough to know that Wisper really care about their buyers and users. Your post just simply serves to support the misbelief that Wisper don't care, when they would have willingly helped you sort the issue.

You really don't understand the damage you do for the casual buyer looking for reliability and support of the brand you yourself have chosen to buy.

I plan to do this on my return this weekend. I’ve satisfied myself that it’s loose spokes but can’t adjust easily with an adjustable so have ordered some tools that will be there on return.
Thanks for the offer of help on what are superb bike.

Are you not listening or purposely just being very annoying ?
I contacted the forum after speaking to the dealer who said he would get back to me as soon as he has spoke to Wisper.
While waiting for dealer I asked on forum for ideas and got the answer.
I never complained once about the bike or mentioned Wisper not caring.
