The new 805fe and the 836 are the same bike (just a name change)

The new 805 is far more solid that the older 806 model with an adjustable handlebar stem - so suitable for taller people

Other differences on the 805 are:

It also has the new 3 power , self diagnostic panel on the handle bars

The battery is a 36v - so more range and power

New style seat

Kenda Ebike tyres

New Tektro brake levers and V brakes

Ergonomic grips

New Dahon style QR on stem

and still does not have a throttle

Hope all that helps you - oh and it rides very nicely if anyone wants to have a go in Bristol:D

All my fault!!

Sorry for any confusion guys!

OK here goes......

The original bike was called the 805fe we originally produced this bike with a 24V battery but it seemed a little underpowered so we upgraded the bike to 36V.

To differentiate between the two bikes I called the later more powerful bike the 836fe because 36V battery and motor.

We then introduced the 806Alpino and it all became a bit complicated because the 6 in all our bikes means they run the Dapush system and have an Alfine 8 hub gear box.

Soooo........

I took a deep breath changed the 836fe back to 805fe and kept my head well down waiting for the flack from our dealers, suppliers and Douglas and yes it came!

Soooo....

Now we have two models the 805fe (36V, 16 gears, black frame, and bafang drive) and the 806Alpino (36V, 8 gears, white frame and Dapush drive).

Sorry!

If anyone would like a e copy of our new brochure explaining all please drop ma an email to dmiall@me.com

throttle on 806 Alpino

Hi, thanks for the info David.
Can you clear up the question of the throttle on the 806 Alpino please? An earlier post indicates there is a throttle but web site suggests it is like the panasonic walking throttle, does it work like the throttle on the 905 or must the peddles be turning? The answer will decide which bike I buy!
thanks Eve.

Hi David ,

Thanks for helping to clear that one up. I guess an update to your website with the correct model numbers will follow in due course and will also help to avoid confusion. People should really go to one of the excellent wisper dealers for a test ride and to get the latest up-to-date info but most of us rely on the manufactures web sites to help us draw up an initial short list.

There still seems to be a couple of questions outstanding from this thread that you might be able to help with

1) Is it easily possible to retro fit a throttle to the latest version of the 805fe ?
2) What is the cost of a replacement 36v 9ah battery for the latest 805fe ?
3) Does the latest 805fe have a chain guard ?

Thanks for your help

ps if you have an electronic copy of your brochure I would like one - better still put it on the website and I can download it for myself !:D

Hi Eve

The throttle on the 906Alpino is a 6kph version as sold in continental Europe, however as the European law has not been adopted yet in UK we can change the settings for you in 5 minutes, free of course, so it will power all the way to 25kph or 16mph on throttle only. This applies to all our Alpino models.

Best regards

David

Hi Phil

Please drop me your email address and I will send a brochure straight away.

I will have the web site upgraded tomorrow.

The throttle cannot be fitted to the 805fe as we need two gear changers for the 16 gears and they get in the way.

I will find the price for a replacement battery but from the top of my head it is about £300.00 as you know I don't deal with UK sales, sorry.

No the latest 805 only has the guard on the chain drive and not on the chain between the chain drive and rear sprocket.

All the best

David
