Hi...some of you may be aware that I bought a Wisper 905 from Watkin5 and incidentally it looks brand new.
Still getting to grips with it but so far so good...I much prefer it to the x6 which is still for sale by the way.
Getting desperate to sell now, 2 cars, 4 bikes, 2 lawnmowers, 100 rusty paint cans, garage is about full up.

On the ignition switch, other than OFF there are 2 positions, I was hoping that one position would only activate the motor while pedaling,
...more encouragement to pedal I thought, but not so,
As far as I can tell both positions are the same and work the motor whether pedaling or not....could easily make one lazy and I don't need any encouragement in that direction.

Why are there 2 positions for the same action ?

Thanks for this and any other relevant info. like which is a good rack to get ?

.....Mike

On my battery there are 3 positions, two of which are off.

Off and unlocked

Off and locked (into battery mounting)

On and locked

Mine is the version with the two power pins at the bottom rather than the connector.

I just got a cheap and cheerful rack from Halfords. Needed a bit of modding (mounting holes on rack needed drilling out, the bolts that it comes with are too small and the one on the bike holding the deraileur gaurd is too short, oh and the tie brackets had to be bent to fit to the mud guard mounts) to fit but it seems pretty solid.

Thanks for that z0mb13e...mine is the 2008 model with the connecter and a seperate lock to fasten it to frame...more reliable i'm thinking.

I had a look at the racks in Halfords..£29...didn't want to buy one and then it not fit.

...anybody got the 2008 model ?

When I got my 905SE, the manual simply said that the seccond position was not implemented on this model. My guess is that the keyswitch was simply the best available when they went into production, and that it was cheaper to use the the two position version rather than get a single position switch custom made by their supplier. It sounds to me, though I've not seen it, that they had a complete rethink of the battery design for the 2009 version. As e-bikes are still in a process of rapid development, and nowhere near any kind of standardisation, I suppose these things are to be expected.
