After much deliberation and quite a lot of searching especially on the forums here I last week ordered a 2009 Wipser 905SE City. I intend to use it for work 38 or 28 miles per day round trip depending which site I am based at. I currently use a standard bike but my old rugby knee injury is a killer on the hills(not that there are that many in Norfolk). Anyway just a thank you to all the people who have helped me in my dicision. I will post again once I have recieved my bike. I will be upgrading the seat to a Rido R2 and putting my BikeBins on it and then will be giving it a go. I currently average 15miles per hour on my Raleigh but my knee takes about 4-5 hours to recover from the trip. Hopefully this will help!

Reasons Why!!

Just in case you were wondering the reasons for me choosing the Wisper were as follows:

1) Excellent reviews in general.

2) The support from Wisper seems to be exceptionally good.

3) Looks - I really like the look of the bike and styling.

4) Range seems to be high and this is important to me.

5) Speed looks good and I like the off road option.

6) Doug was very helpful and so was the guy at TETS in Cambridge.

Hi there,

I own a Wisper, and simply adore it :) I'd just say, to get the most from it, take your charger to work (or get a seccond one to keep at work), as I know from experience that if you hit an East Anglian head wind - it probably won't make your distance on a single charge.

My Commute is 25 miles round trip, and the wind can be the difference between the green light still showing when I get to work, and it nearly being on red only. I know the indicator lights only give a very rough guide as to the state of the battery, but have read that LI-ion cells are happiest when given small top-ups as they go, rather than being run flat. Though do give it the occasional overnight soak charge, as this really does seem to help.

I really hope you enjoy your bike as much as I do - good luck :)

RE Straylight

Thanks for those tips I know what you mean about the head wind!! A second charger sounds like a good idea and will look into this. Thanks for your advice.
