905 City se, this year's model:

What do the low/medium/high settings represent in terms of percentage of power?

I ask partly as on returning from a nice quiet Sunday morning ride, I noticed that I was on 'medium', and must have been for the past couple of miles, which included a fairly nasty hill climb. Since I have had the bike (only a month or so) I have scarcely had it off the 'high' mark.

Second question: are the low/medium/high settings reasonably accurate?

Thanks.

Allen.

Usually considered to be 20, 80 and 100%.

How accurate?, depends on the state of battery discharge. With a fully charged battery, you may find medium (80%) is enough. As the battery nears empty you might need to go to 100% to get enough assist to maintain your speed. This will also hasten low voltage shutdown.

Edit:

There is also a suggestion here that your fitness level is increasing, as one would expect after a months riding.

Thanks, Blew it, useful information (not available from the 'proper' sources).

And yes to the fitness level, too. I've been experimenting with higher gears and lower power level, and I am finding I can do more and ask less from the motor. Now, when I can tackle the hill in question in LOW power, then I'll know I'm really getting somewhere!
