I totally agree with the others, if your not sure what your doing seek advice from Norman, whom I presume is Wispers technician. If they are able to repair the battery, I'm sure they'll do it at a reasonable price being it was probably supplied by them.
From what you've told me so far, I'm pretty sure the cells are ok. Any other fault is repairable.

Hi Killjoy

Sorry to read about your problem and thanks so much to everyone else for your help! :)

Been a bit busy over the last few weeks getting the 2011 bikes and Daahub kit ready for Eurobike, so have not been onto Pedelecs much.

Unless you understand electronics KJ it really is best to stay out of the battery box, if the battery is fully charged there is a lot of power in there and you could do more harm than good!

Norman is away on hols until Monday, but I will drop him an email now to make sure he picks up your email as soon as possible so we can get you back on the road.

We don't get many battery problems and reading the post I would bet it's something quite straight forward, if you have not already done so, please send Norman your bike and battery serial number so he will know exactly the battery in question.

Last point, where did you buy your bike and do you have a date of purchase?

Best regards

David

Thanks David, I will add the numbers to my email to Norman. I bought the Bike in September 2008 from Southampton; although I am in Stevenage.

Well I have just received my charger and battery back from Steve at Wisper and he reckons that it was just the the charger wasn't making a good contact when it was plugged into the battery.

Anyway he returned it charged and the bike runs well so assuming it charges when I've run it down a bit it will just have been a lot of fuss over me having a poor contact.

I've had the same problem and discovered that by twisting the charging lead anti clockwise it charges up.
Must be something to do with the charging port but I've checked the connections and they all seem okay.
