I might have the funds for a new bike which would be for leisure rides.I want it to have a greater range than my Powabyke which i have got 32 miles from.there are quite a few hills around here.
The German build/looks of the Agattu appeal, plus its ability to go up any hill it is faced with and the battery is a bit cheaper...
The Wisper it would seem will give me longer range...and the ability at the press of a button to go a little faster..off road of course....and if previous threads suggesting the Wispers batterys are correct then it could last well over 2 years....Which was gave me a little concern at first given its price.
AAARRRRGGGGGG
what do i do ??????

I have a wisper and love it........But the consensus seems to be that for hill climbing a Panasonic powered bike is better.

you need to try both I think and compare.

Just like eddio said - You need to try them both out to see what you prefer. They are both very very different from each other, but both excellent bikes and a lot of fun. I ended up with an Agattu myself and am delighted with it, but it was a very close run thing with the Wisper for me. Wisper owners all seem like a happy bunch of satisfied customers too though.

I think there is talk of a more powerful 300 watt? Panasonic unit coming out.

If I could afford 2 bikes I like the look of some of the emotion models. I cant stand the shopper style bikes, I find them uncomfortable, particularly the handle bars........

Trouble is you really need a week of testing them both to make the correct decision. Is the agattu just like a normal bike to ride with no power ?

A bit unrealistic...when buying a £20.000 car you mostly only get a quick test drive.

Surely as long as you have a chance to ride up a few hill on each that should be enough? no ebike is "like a normal bike" with the exception of a few like the cytronex etc.... I think the wisper and agutta are similar weights but emotion do lighter weight bikes I believe

If you fancied a trip to mid-Wales you could go to onbike.co.uk in Presteigne.

They have both Emotion bikes which use the Panasonic system and are good to ride as ordinary bikes, plus Wispers and others.

They have another branch in Kidderminster, but mid-Wales has the hills...

When i say normal...what i mean is a lot less difficult than a lead powered Powabyke....!
With the 50cycles sale at the moment it appears to be a good time to buy an Agattu....cheaper than a Wisper sport.......
I was impressed by the video of the Agattu going up i think it was the alps when it first came out...
Point taken about the testing.....i was just hoping wisper/agattu people might lend....never mind...silly thought..but if you don't try.....

yes...i know....just wish they were a little closer.....I can try a wisper in Bolton....just down the road but the nearest Agattu is a 70 mile round trip....not that far with the money involved i suppose .

We have a sale on, if that helps! Most Kalkhoff models with at least £100 off, up to £300 off for certain Agattus.
All the best

Thanks Tim...thats what makes me really interested in Agattu,,,but looking at the sizes i am not sure whether you have the right size for me...the £1295 crossbar Agattu..I am 6' 1 with 31 inside leg....would the 53cm be too small ?

53cm frame is ideal for a rider with an inside leg measurement of 31", so I would say go for it. All those Agattus are bigger bikes than the measurements would suggest because of the extra couple of inches of saddle post suspension mechanism.

Also, it's worth knowing that the models included in our sale at that price come with the integrated rear wheel lock which is missing from the full price models!

I am in the same possition as you, I ;) like the 905 sport with its 36v 14a battery but prefer the crank drive system and larger wheels of the e-motion. I especially like the the Cross deluxe a lot lighter than the Wisper but 26v10a battery, although i have not read anything negative abought the Panasonic battery . The BH E-motion is about £200 more expensive than the wisper if it was the same price I think it would tip the balance for me anyway. If i wanted to try a E-motion it would be a 260 mile round trip because as far as i know only On Bike sells them, maybe they will have a end of season sale like 50 Cycles.;)

Financially its looking like an Agattu given the current sale price and the interest free credit available.....I know the e-motions are a bit lighter but when everything is taken into consideration they cost more....like the Wispers, without the credit incentive.
I have just watched the Alp d'huez video again and the hill climbing is absolutely awesome....i would be riding round looking for the biggest hills !

I've just bought the Agattu clone, the Raleigh Dover, and I'm beyond delighted with it. It just walks up hills - today I was riding it up a little, very steep hill on the exit from an underpass, with my trailer attached, and I could feel it surging forward with every press of the pedals.

It all feels very solid and well-built. It can be pedalled quite easily on the flats without power and I thought I would do that a lot - but it turns out the swoopy sensation from the power assist is just too much fun!

I've had my Agattu for 18 months now and commute up very steep hills every day.. The bike handles it all with ease. It has quite literally changed my working life.

It is a solid, reliable workhorse, and on the flat can zip along pretty well without power.. though as others have noted.. why do that when power on is such fun.

Sounds great, like you say,why ride without power when its so much fun with.....but i was just thinking ahead in the offchance that i might get fit enough to ride powerless...or if i went on a long ride and to ensure i got back i could be powerless part of the way there..... :)
