...actually pale, thin, peeliewaly Scottish legs I'm afraid.. but most cyclists I pass on hills don't notice the battery and assume I am Steve Austin:)

Sounds great, like you say,why ride without power when its so much fun with.....but i was just thinking ahead in the offchance that i might get fit enough to ride powerless...or if i went on a long ride and to ensure i got back i could be powerless part of the way there..... :)
Absolutley fine on the flat.. not sure I'd like to try it powerless on my steep hills.

We have e-Motion City Deluxe (step-through) bikes for this reason. The derailleur gears (once you get used to having to think ahead a bit) provide an extra low gear for when you are riding unpowered. With an e-bike - especially a Panasonic one - you're inclined to pedal at a higher gear than you would without power.

The e-Motion, like the Agattu, are closer to an ordinary bike when unpowered. The derailleur gears allow you to sneak a somewhat higher top gear AND a lower bottom gear if you can swap the cassette. Very pleased so far, but as others have said, these bikes are only for those who want to put in their own power. They aren't mopeds - they're push bikes that eliminate the worst of those long steep hills.
