On Christmas Eve, Anthony Clyde owner of Electric Bikes NZ received an order for the first 100 New Zealand Post bikes to be upgraded to Wisper electric power. Anthony has been working with NZ Post on a specially developed DaaHub kit for the last 18 months, at the end of an exhaustive year long trial period he has received an order to convert the first batch of existing bikes.

Congratulations Anthony!

Congratulations on this success Anthony and David. I'd guess it uses the in-frame battery placement of the Daahub kit since that neatly solves the problem of where the battery goes, given the front and rear carriers of a post bike.

Thanks Guys!

They are using two varieties one exactly like the Unit Eddie has. Their main worries were were life, reliability and ease of both installation and converting the bikes back to standard bikes if necessary. (They would not entertain drilling into the frames) All points were found to be more than satisfactory.

The "Posties" who were testing the bikes fitted last year were absolutely delighted with them. One of the bigest advantages according to NZPO is the working life (on delivery rounds) of typical NZ postmen and women has been extended by five or six years! Which has delighted both the Post and the postmen alike.

All the best
