Managed to get hold of one as new for £380 on Ebay and have "pimped" it. Very impressed with what you get for the money, having owned several comparable machines some of which cost twice as much or more. The perennial problem of too low gearing is the only issue I would raise; here it is in its modified state: new bars, new saddle, no guards. I may even give it a custom paint job as well.

You don't need to paint it. Just stick some decals on it:
