I bough a Woosh Santana CD a couple of weeks ago. Due to circumstances beyond my control she's only been out twice so far and then only a couple of miles each time.
However, here's a mini review:
First so you know why a Woosh CD bike. My wife can't pedal a bike at all so it needed to have a throttle, it needed to be a step-thru and I thought a CD would be best for our needs as it drives through the gears.
So, it duly turned up and at first sight it looks OK. It seems sturdy enough and she liked it, which is the most important.
Our playground is down in the Falkirk Helix park. Here you can cycle for about 4 miles out and only climb about 60 feet, so a round trip of 8 miles with little climbing. The Santana CD manages the task quite well.
She hasn't been on a bike for 40 years and was nervous.
The Woosh does what we want, it pulls away on the flat on the throttle and runs along at a nice easy pace in 1st or 2nd gear.
Now a small sized ladies bike isn't MY style. However, last night while I was in my garage, there it was, this crank drive bike just begging me to try it on the hills.
So, I thought I'll just try it up the hill outside my house, a few hundred yards and back.
I did and liked it so much I went round the village trying it on all the hills. It went up them quite well.
It's smooth, quiet and has a nice riding position. It's perfect for our needs.
The only thing I can say I don't like is the front disk brake. It's cable operated and not too great. It may bed itself in with use.
I think in a one on one race against my Kudos Tourer the Kudos would win but for my wifes needs the Santana is perfect.
Horses for courses I guess.
