Hey Guys,

Have had this done for Mountain Biking UK to review, thought it looks quite cool...! Its never going to do what they normally do on bikes, but they may have a bit of fun on it, as I am whizzing round Bristol!!

Cheers
Mark

If you hit 'QUOTE' on your original message, the URL of the image comes up, so you can craftily put it in the right place...

Doesn't appear for me using "Quote" with either IE or Firefox?

Ain't that odd, flecc. The URL (i.e. not the pic, just the address of the pic) appears for me using Quote with Safari and/or Firefox. (Apple Mac. Maybe Mark is too?)

Ah, could be, PC here. This is all I see using "Quote", last bracket removed to show it as I see it:

I give up! I was trying to copy and paste to show what I get, but the board system retranslates it into proper 'board' images.

It'll have to remain a mystery, unless Mark comes back from his yellow-bike riding and enlightens us.

Thanks Mark, that seems to be it then, Apple Mac versatility or Windows PC excess online protection!

Very nobbly tyres, Mark! Must burn a lot of power if it's on-road.

Flecc: Macs are the ebikes of the computing world...

Albeit they are knobbly, they don't seem to burn anymore energy (maybe less!). I went out this weekend with the Yellow one in the pic and a black one with normal tyres that my housemate rode and I had more power at the end of our shopping trip around town.

I must say, I am amazed by the performance of the Metro the more I ride it!

Do we have any A2B Metro customers on the forum?

There's a hinge speed on knobbly tyres beyond which they can be efficient. That speed is where the forward
travel is too fast for the acceleration due to gravity (32' per second/per second) to allow the bike to drop
into the slots between the tread lumps. Then the tyre just rolls along the surface with little loss. Of course
a powerful e-bike will spend more time above that hinge speed which is typically around 12 to 13 mph,
depending on tread.

The better knobbly designs stagger the tread profiles so that any any time at least one of the top surfaces of
the knobbly bits is in contact with the road. At speed these can be very efficient.

Thanks for the physics, flecc; I knew it would be in there somewhere.

And the "At speed" tells me why knobblies have never worked for me. Maybe, though, once I get wired, speeds approaching 10 mph will become commonplace.

(I cook slowly too).

Just seen over on endless sphere a chap in Canada had his brand new black one nicked.........

I don't really like them to be honest much preferring a more traditional styling.......thus speaks the man who put in an offer on an Optibike a few weeks ago! lol

what kind of range do they have? surely it cant be very good
