Hi I looked at this when I had a spare Downtube ie putting it on the back rack in place of making a bracket to fit a YOSE / Halong onto a. Suntour Carrera setup .

It really would have been a bodge job unless you made a custom battery holder but then the amount of work that would be required makes it unviable.

Sell your down tube and buy a rear rack would be the way to go .
You can get a much bigger back rack so more range .

It can be done , we have seen it done a few times.
The battery sits quite high up and then shouts ebike or not quite right.
One will have to bolt the base holder down and make sure the battery in locked in place for piece of mind one may want to add a strap over the battery.

I simply drilled holes through a piece of pallet wood for the battery mount, then bolted through both onto the rack, held on by aluminium chipboard joiner plates and nyloc nuts on the underside. I used aluminium joiner plates because the rack is aluminium, didn't want steel wearing it away. Has been pretty sturdy, for about four years so far. The plan was to replace pallet wood with a bit of aluminium box section, bought but haven't bothered. I could move the battery closer to the middle of the bike, for better weight distribution, for my uses that hasn't been necessary. Using velcro straps over the top to secure the battery, is a good idea - I've got two also holding on two waterproof rucksack covers.
