Hello, I installed a 36V 250W yose power kit with a C500 display on my bike. The problem is that I can only drive 6 km/h on the thumb throttle. How can i remove this limit?

Not a KT controller with a c500 so more likely it is a Lishui lsw controller.
They will set for 6km/h as that is the legal position for their use, download a c500 manual via search and see if there are any settings that can be changed.

Lishui controller. The display has settings, but changing these settings has no effect. I changed in advanced settings SET 4 and SET 5 without any results.

In general settings I have SET 1, SET 3 and SET 4. I don't have SET 2 and SET 5. In the advanced settings I have all from SET 1 to SET 7. Photos attached. (I wrote the default settings with a pencil).20220618_073629.jpg20220618_073637.jpg

It is likely hard set in the firmware then.

Can I change the controller to 36V 350W? I saw that this controller has no limits. Will the engine burn out?

Is the motor in the yose power 36v 250W set the same as in the yose power 36V 350W set? I have the impression that these sets differ only in controllers. Can any of you confirm this?

Some displays might not allow the disablement of the throttle option, even if the manual says so.

Unlikely to harm the motor. Make sure the battery can cope.

I Changed the controller and the throttle is working normally. :)
I’m soon to get the 350w Yose power kit and I was wondering if anyone knew wether that was also limited and if so what controller would I need to buy to derestrict it as the main reason for me choosing this kit aside from low price is for the throttle. Thanks

Its prob Lishui, you would need a KT controller that matches your connectors + LCD + throttle + brakes (all KT) and just keep the YOSE motor & battery if the battery rack is integrated with the YOSE controller you may have issues, if the YOSE controller is a box standalone then it will be easier. Lots on here about YOSE just use the Search and use tags like YOSE and KT - assuming the YOSE is not right for your application, try it first.

The Yosepower 350w kits are not speed limited. I have bought two this year -one with an integrated 18A controller:-
36V350W 26"/27.5"/28" Rear E-Bike Conversion Kit for Cassette with 36V – YOSE POWER UK
and one with a separate 18A contoller:-
36V350W26"/27.5"/28" Rear E-Bike Conversion Kit for Freewheel – YOSE POWER UK
The max speed can be set in the advanced settings in the C500 display. The throttle can also be set to either 6 Km/h maximum, unrestricted, or set to the same power as each PAS level on the display.

Your two throttle settings are set to "n". Shouldn't one or both be set to "y"?

That post was from June last year! He solved the problem by changing the 15A controller that came with his 250w kit for an 18A one that Yose sell in their 350w kits (and available separately) See his post on 23 July 2022.
From my experience with a 250w rear kit, changing the controller will allow the throttle settings, but not the maximum speed setting. To do this as well the C500 display wil also need to be changed. The version that Yosepower sell separately will do this.

Did you find out if the throttle can be set to a limit of 6kph/4mph?
I didn’t see this covered but I did come across a setting in my display giving the option of throttle y/n which was full power of walk mode but it didn’t get up to 4mph with my fat @rse on the trike.

Can a sperate controller from other brands be used (switched) with a battery rack from Yose with integrated controller?

Reasons:
I want to drop the speed limit, try using other controllers with better features and sources for lower cost, tune torque output, etc..

Any suggestions or even links to videos would help

topbikekit stock/sell KT brand controllers in the hailong base format with yose style julet connectors. but a number of hailong base sizes seem to exist so check the site for measurement details.

the jytcon controllers shipped with my yose kit appear to be fully locked down allowing only speed/distance metrics and wheel size to be modified in config and wheel size only effects the speed reading on the lcd display, otherwise it seems as was pre change..

The thumb throttle is useless, i forget if mine is still attached to the bike (probably is) without popping out to check..
The speed capped pas settings provide you with a 'full throttle' upto X speed option in steps up to 15.5 mph, and cracking a brake lever gives you a virtual clutch to cut motor power, giving you a way to select mid step speeds easily.
-Combined with ghost pedalling, you have variable speed control upto 15.5 mph with variable -'up to you' pedal input, so you can work as hard or as little as you wish.

Its just a case of discovering and learning a few new techniques to ride your now assisted bike, It took me a fair few weeks tbh, but now its all second nature and reflex.

I was so shook by the failure of my conversion to meet my 'emoped-esq' expectations I found out about the KT controllers and ordered one via the slow boat.. By the time it arrived complete with the display I had however started to figure things out, and 2 years on im still riding the conversion with the basic locked down control system..

Not suggesting a kt controller isnt an upgrade either, it certainly is, but just that it might not be necessary if like me you dont master the nuances of e-bikes straight away.

btw it didnt take too long for me to find a dead ebike to use my shiny new kt controller ;)
