My oxygen e-mate MTB has a maximum assist speed which you can set up to around 30mph. I've tried it set at maximum (on private land of course) but it actually cuts off assist around 24-25 miles an hour. There is also a max speed for the throttle as well. I've also had to lower the wheel diameter as the speed and mileage were reading to high as well compared to gps and cycle computer measurements. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If it's anything like the e-mate MTB you just press and hold the settings button for 10 seconds then you getting into the config settings menu where there's a few things to play with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

All fixed and working again. A big thank you to SYEBC who sorted this out for me today. This problem looks to be one of my own making and I've not tighten things up properly the last time had it in in bits. I'm very lucky I didn't damage anything trying to tighten the lock ring which was already tight. Morel of the story don't mess when you don't know what your doing.

The 8 year old is actually my daughter and the six year old is my son. There both tiny for their age though and only weigh 20 and 15 kg. So we are roughly around 140kg all up with my lardy arse as well. I've been after one of these tandem tagalongs for a while and managed to find this one on ebay for a resonable amount locally. I picked it up on Saturday and had a quick blast round the block with the kids. The oxygen MTB coped with all three of us with no problem at all. It just needs some TLC now to remove a bit of rust and replace gear shifter and gear cable.

I'm going to fit the wheel back on the bike and take it to oxygen on friday on my day off. They are only round the corner from me and the bike is only 50 miles off their complimentary 300 mile service and tune up anyway. It will give me time to service the new tandem tag alone I found on eBay.

I've not got a chain whip so couldn't undo. Apnother trip to halfords tomorrow. Or maybe I should leave well alone and take it back to at SYEBC its only 3 months old and I,be only done 250 miles. It may have always been like this maybe asemmbled wrong or part spacer missing.

Its a shimano cassette so I had a trip to halfords and got a lock ring tool. Took the back wheel off and had a go at tighning lock ring. The tool turns making a clicking noise but nothing is getting any tighter. Here's another vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qEyBUIfQZ8

Do I need a special tool for lock ring?

Personally I think its banjaxed. We'll see tomorrow when the guy comes to have a look.

So I take if the bike business is not like the car business then. You buy a car from a dealer if say if your gearbox fails you take it back to either the dealer you bought it from or another one who deals with same manufacturer if it's still under warranty. the dealer replaces or repairs gearbox and the dealer gets paid for their labour and parts by manufacturer.
