  1. Sooo... what is does is interupt the signal from rear sensor and fools system by (halving or doubling? the pulse, so it doubles up the speed - is that it? I suppose as system so strong as long as you dont over so it it should be OK..But boys being boys I do worry!:p
  2. Yeah but! you get a lot of non serous postings where some say they want advice but buy what originally drew them anyway....its a nonsense. But your right the perfect bike for intended poster but will they recognize the fact... when posting this stuff I feel that it is probably of more use to the many lurkers out there who look in and dont post...bless em!
  3. you wont find a Scott e bike anywhere near prices on this thread....the zemo a cracking deal
  4. Terrible.....be careful out there. probably get a few years I know what I would do with him
  5. naughty but nice... even though £ dropping like a stone compared to last years level still some good deals. here for instance a sport S class bike saving approx £600 on UK sale price. Indalo likes this one.. An S class bike for less then £1800 S-Pedelec Kalkhoff Pro Connect BS10 10-G XT Bosch 36V 350W Mittelmotor | eBay

  8. This is not an e bike retailer, just a bike shop. You will be living with your choice for many years and absolute madness not to try a range of bikes first to compare and decide what's right for You... Some of the bikes recommended are stodgy, heavy and old fashioned, a nice light 20 kg bike far nicer to ride..and handling better. Bosch bikes have caught on in a big way because they are very enjoyable and respond so well. Just jump on a train and try some and compare... All the good advice is to try before you buy......ignoring this advice plain daft edit: also in your opening post you mention 2 boardman road bikes..why dont you just get a kit for one of these. John of cycle Ezee can supply a powerful kit with throttle for you comute.wil be much nicer then a cheap e bike thats for sure!
  9. welcome! Thanks for the PM..to be honest I dont really look on any other section on here just the main one. if hill climbing your main concern, my recommendation is a Bosch powered bike, second a Panasonic but a 36 v one, problem being these are expensive. Just make the effort to try before you buy, have an away day to a good dealer. Onbike a good example as they sell a good range, or alternatively wait for a show..or better still do both. there is a new cheaper centre drive bike on the way from Kudos..but no one knows anything about it. but at times you can get a Bosch/Panasonic bike for around the same money abroad. You can get better deals from Germany at times. need to know if you are happy with a crossbar bike (they are normally a lot lighter) and once you have tried a few happy to help further..... I wont be drawn on one particular creation recommended here... and you are right you dont need a throttle on a modern centre drive bike. Thee is only so much you gan clean on a forum you really just have to make the effort and get out a nd try a few different bikes..and for heavens sake dont be tempted to buy blind!
  10. if taking the pair we use our camper van which has a rear rack, but can only take one in the hatchback so just put it in back in exactly the same way as you... SHOULD have bought a tow bar rack for camper then could have used it on car as well. Will have to get it sorted out soon Tuscany last summer..... http://i46.tinypic.com/2eb4ndl.jpg
  11. Nations dont usually go in unless they have something to gain. while wandering around india looking at the brass domes on temples etc... which where formally gold until the British arrived a reasonable example. I learnt a hard lesson on this tour, when being constantly approached for money, early on a guide advised us to totally ignore them, as NO means MAYBE and by saying "no" you have opened the door to being constantly pestered and hounded. stay stum and dont look and they are not so persitant and fade away as they realise you are wise to it.... Its a real horrible feeling ignoring another human beings existance and you do feel guilty, but if you want to stay sane you have to. I think overseas policy should be similar unless genocide the issue.
  12. Alex, We always get this when trying to have a reasonable conversation, up pop the usual protagonists desperate to justify their choice of an appalling creation that most of us don't recognize as a bike at all...Thankfully we have an "ignore button" so I don't have to read the dire "contributions", but why they cant just start own threads, or stay on topic is baffling. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hugh, they do break you know and it's like tuning a car,,,push it to far and you know what can happen. I think I prefer to live with the limitations at least till warranty expires Interesting comments though, that it performs better then a 350 watt Panasonic S class bike surprising! That is some going.....
  13. Ha ha ha trying tp have a serious discussion re Panasonic and Bosch bikes and the turdaro rears its ugly head again....what a joke Hugh, are you not concerned about your warranty? Was hoping to dongle was a plug in unit but I guess not.......
  14. On 2nd Bosch bike now. The first the cutout very noticeable the new one nowhere near as noticeable...much smoother, but agree a few more mph would be preferable
  15. that is the deal.... no hill insurmountable, and as this the main reason for an ebike, it is my preferred option. We visit many very hilly areas in Europe.... A hub bike faster on the flat but useless in comparison on the slopes. before any one says it, talking about legal or semi legal 250 watt bikes here. Reason why we have one of each:D Im happy enough to plod along over the cut of....as I know the hills no threat, so no dread and that is whe ebiking is about I would think..anyway you have both like us so choose which bike for whatever occasion or dongle the KTM:p
