I've had a look. One of the small wires from the charger port does look a little chewed up. I've got a friend who's an electrical engineer who's promised to come over tomorrow afternoon and have a look. I think I've got *just* enough juice to get to work tomorrow. Failing that, have a prayer for me riding shank's pony until I can get it sorted. Thanks for the help!

Thanks, PH001. I don't have a DC voltmeter, but it was also my husband's best guess that I nipped a wire when I popped the case back together. We'll open it up and have a look later. If it is the BMS, I don't think I have the courage to attempt it on my own. We'll see.

I plugged my battery into the charger, the light went straight to green and no charging happened. Zo! Is it the charger, or the battery? If it's the battery, can anybody recommend a refurber? (I looked for a stickied thread on the topic and couldn't find). If it matters: 30 month old Freego. Ridden five days every week, a total of about 13 miles a week. Charged every Sunday. Performance has been fine, nothing unusual lately...except the battery case popped open about a week ago and I snapped it shut again. Thanks for any insights! I tried riding in under my own steam today and I didn't like it. I didn't like it at all.

Oh, man, I am completely captured by the idea of 3D printing. I used to do 3D modeling back in the day and I keep promising myself I'll take time and refresh my skills. I still don't understand how you 3D print metal components (I assume they're metal) that are structurally strong enough to do real work. How much of the 3D work are you doing yourself?

When I were a lass, kids' bikes were always fixies in the States. And I have the knee scars to prove it. I admit, I shuddered a bit when I read your first message (I misinterpreted it to mean a fixie, too). I didn't know there was such a thing as a onesie, though! That's probably for me, for my next bike. I'm way too stupid for gears.

I ordered mine a week before Christmas. It arrived, I put it together...somehow, they left the pedals out of the box! To the seller's credit, they drove a pair out to me that day. After dark. And there was a huge storm next day. I, too, know the feels.

You've got five levels of assistance? The Eagle and the Regency are not the same, then. I only have three. The battery meter will plummet when it's under load; on mine, even a freshly charged battery will drop to one or two bars going up a steep hill. It rebounds on the level to a more accurate measurement. And -- I don't know if it's true, but I'm sure someone here will correct me if it isn't -- the dealer told me either use the throttle or the pedals, but not both at once. Also, never use the throttle from a dead stop, especially not on a hill. It's just too much on the motor.

Hi Rozovy. I have the Freego Regency, which I think is just an Eagle with a poncey paint job. Been commuting for just over a month and very happy with it -- though with a 3-mile round trip, my demands are not heavy. I won't weigh in on your other thread as I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I'll be interested to hear how your first service goes. I can't really get back to my dealership for the courtesy service, so I'd like to know what kind of problems turn up for you.
