  1. Hi BB5 here, way up North.... in the ice and snow if you would like to add me to the map :-) Thanks
  2. Love the monty python ref... enjoy!!!
  3. Try greasing the pedal threads also... Remove the pedals, apply grease to the threads and refit. It sounded very much like a failing bottom bracket on one of my bikes.
  4. I will use the same policy when I get my ebike... if its raining I aint going... but if it starts when I am out, Im out so getting wet anyway....
  5. Sounds like a good ride.... I have an understanding wife, who allows number 1 bike to stand In the kitchen as long as it doesn't drip oil. No 2 bike is stored in the garage and no3 on the trainer also in the garage, for which she went out and bought a heater and a fan!!!!! (the question is what is she after....) With regard to the weather, was it raining? raining hard? or mostly standing water? How did you find the electrics with all the water and mud? Do you take any special precautions when cleaning off (jet wash?) Do you bag any electrics or similar? Do you prewash with a specific cleaner solutions? Sorry for the questions - new to ebikes and my brain is working faster than the search facility!!
  6. Ah yes, planning on the Giant. Went to a Giant store on saturday and confirmed availability, sizing etc, however there is no bike to demo yet, so I am reluctant to commit such a sum with out a demo. The large are being built last, so it will be a few weeks before I find out if it suits me. Good news on the seperate posting!!!
  7. Any body mind if I join up to the group, currently I use sweat power, but I also make use of a virtual reality trainer (indoor computerised trainer that simulates gradient, surface and weather conditions), which posts to strava as virtual rides. I used to suffer as you guys did with having rides withdrawn from the net due to disgruntled lycra's.... even had that after posting real times too....I plan to have my new ebike, around week 18 (mid April) when it is released, and will continue to post to strava when I use the ebike. I am not a great lover of the competitiveness of strava and blame it partly for the break up of the group of riders I used to go out with, however, now I don't really care for it, but its a useful tool to measure my own performance against.
  8. Doesnt everyone get 12 offers, one each month? Or are you just special?
  9. I take it that's a no then..... Thanks Flash
  10. Just to be clear - It is a one time only use, with a specific code from your Dash board in the BC site, before the 31st Jan 2016.
  11. Interesting how the product description, differs from the photos and the listing.... images show 105, yet the description in a photo states Claris and yet the listing says 105. Image shows 105 canti brakes, yet the photo desciption says center pull, and the listing states 105, and then tyres types listed as Kenda or Maxxis. Cant say much about the tyres, i think they will be much of a muchness, but theres a massive difference between 105 and Claris. Theres nothing wrong with Claris, even the top of the spec Speciialized carbon framed tarmac comes with Claris on the entry level machine, but I would have to expect 105 and get Claris. That being said, buyer be aware and all that. Good to see another race style bike offering, and this one with a carbon fork.
  12. Good Day folks. So I am currently looking to purchase an ebike, and my mind comes about to how easy it is to take the bike overseas, by plane. Usually I pack my bike into a box and take it to the airport with me as well as my luggage case, pay a specific extra charge, as its an over size case etc. it goes in the hold and I pick it up along with my bags. But how would I go on with the battery's. I understand airlines aren't happy with shipping batteries and most flag Ebikes for that reason. However, from my memory I dont recall ever being asked about battieries or whether I have to declare it as an ebike. Has anyone found ebike friendly airlines? or any guidelines/ pointers? Cheers Jim
  13. Forgive me, but that is a loverly looking bike. My commiserations to the owner and I do hope it turns up.
