Bafang BBS02 power surge
I have a BBS02 unit playing up with power surges and lack of power when using pedal assist. No problems when using throttle control. Research on this forum indicates I'm not alone with this problem but I can't find a cure. Anyone out there can help?

Self build full suspension emtb

- Increasing ah?
Is it possible to increase the ah value. I have a 48v 13ah battery pack. Quiet willing to take it apart and add bits where neccessary. Reason I would like to increase the mileage from its current 35'sh miles per charge.- Dani from Granada (Spain)
Hi Dani Granadas a great city. I lived not too far away in Pozo Alcon and confirm its all great cycling. Question for you. I will be holidaying back in Granada later this year. Is there any places that rent decent ebikes?- Aged newcomer needs advice
I was riding around on a self build e Dahon Espresso which would be pretty similar to yours. The bafang 500w crank kit fitted without too many probs although the battery had to go on the rear rack. I doubt you would get any emtb's much lighter. Go for a smaller engine and battery obviously but there wouldnt be that much weight difference.- Sláinte from Scotland
Now in a world of forestry trails on my self build Voodoo Canza emtb. Can life get any better, well new battery tech would help but its pretty perfect. Sláinte.- Self build full suspension emtb
After lurking and perusing the forum for ideas I thought I would throw my hat in with the following. I live in the middle of a very forested corner of the realm and have access to a life times worth of forestry trails for which I want to ride with a full suspension rig. I had already built a hybrid bike using a Bafang BBS2 crank motor on a 67mm BB bottom shell so had the kit but not a suitable rig. After much research I now found my perfect donor bike a Voodoo Canza 2017 with a bb of 73mm which is fairly unusual as most other mtb makers have gone over to much bigger bb shells. It has a great rolling resistance, superb suspension and additionally a slack steering head allowing easy inertion of a 48v 13ah frame battery mounted under the frame using riv nuts for the m5 mounting bolts. The bafang motor slipped in easily after removal of the BB shell. Only slight problems being unable to use the metal dust cover over the lock ring on the left crank. Additionally on the drive side the drive chain would not centre. Not a problem just reverse the bafang 48mm chain ring and the chain lines up perfectly. I have mounted a rear rack directly onto the rear suspension unit so can carry panniers or whatever. I have an easy 35 mile range. Should the battery die on me I still have 10 sprockets on the back which combined with all the additional weight being on the bottom means its not too hard to hoof it home using pedal power. Total cost £500 for the Voodoo, £350 for the 500w bafang, £250 for the 48v battery. Total cost just over a grand for what I consider is the almost perfect full susp emtb (roll on new battery technology)...... 200 miles in and no problems to date.- Bottom bracket conversions
Anyone know if there is a conversion press fit BB available with a threaded insert? I would like to transfer my Bafang unit off an existig threaded BB bike and onto my press fit BB modern MTB. Cheers- BB Converter 78mm - 93mm ?
Hi all I already have Bafang mid powered motor which fits a standered BB shell on my existing bike. Q. I would like to transfer it onto my full suspension mtb which of course has a wider modern BB which carries a PF41 89.5mm-92mm wide BB. Is there any way anyone can think of to accomplish this feat of engineering?- control vdu problems
All connections good. All wires good. Everything is where it should be. Are there any other controllers that could be used as I don't want to get the same replacement which will probably go wrong.- control vdu problems
Thanks Tommie but already seen this. It seems to be a commen problem and completely f@@@s everything up. There must be some way of bypassing this unit?- control vdu problems
Hi there I am having problems with the control vdu supplied with my bafang 8 fun motor. It has decided to err30 which apparently is a commen fault code that means you have no control over the motor which is more than an irritation. My question is can this motor be controlled with any other vdu controller or can the error codes be over ridden somehow.- Where Do You Live V2.0
Hi there I have (premeture) am, putting together 2 folding mtb's and live in the Stroud Glos area.- Where Do You Live V2.0
