You can see the pattern if you look at the photo in the Amazon order screenshot I previously attached. Two silver and two gold/brass of the four on the right side. BTW this issue was so frustrating I would have paid 4 times as much for the replacement mount—riding is finally enjoyable again…..

I dealt with this issue for years with my 3 different Nyons on 2 different bikes (the Nyon uses the same Intuvia mount). Tried all the things discussed in this thread about the battery contacts, sensor, etc. then I read a thread somewhere about the old Intuvia mount vs. newer ones, which were supposed to prevent this problem. Found and ordered a new one, swapped it out on my bike, and the problem has never happened again (it had gotten so bad right before I replaced it that the cutouts would happen 10-20 times in a one hour ride!). On the old mount the 4 terminals on the right side of the mount are all silver, whereas on the new ones two of the terminals are brass (photo of new one attached). The challenge is to find one where you can be sure it is a new one. I got mine from Amazon (in the US) where the listing had a photo, clearly showing the terminals. Dealt with this problem for ages until I switched to DT Swiss pads and rotors. Problem solved.

Since I normally ride in Mode 1 or off on the flats I get a lot of added range despite riding the hills every day in Marin north of San Francisco. I can easily get 80-100 miles on a charge but that is deceptive due to the amount of time I don’t use the motor. I ride a road eBike for exercise, so my curves are designed to allow me to maintain a relatively constant power output and cadence and thus heart rate. So when I start climbing a hill as it gets steeper and I slow down more the assist increases, allowing me to maintain cadence. On the flats, where I want little or no assist, it gives great power to start up (really encourages me to stop at stop signs and traffic lights!) and then within a few pedal strokes is down to a “maintenance” level of 30%. Modes 2 - 4 are when I want to power up shorter hills faster or want to more easily ride with city traffic. Can’t remember the last time I used the standard modes!

Speed is in mph as I have a Trek Domane + Class 3 bike in the U.S.

That's a bummer--didn't think about the account getting cancelled. That will almost certainly happen to me as I am 4-6 weeks away from having the bike and Nyon...

I have set up an Ebike account and have downloaded the app, but it doesn't seem possible to play with all this until a Nyon is paired (and I don't have one yet). So I think I worded my question incorrectly--even though there are only 4 custom modes the base modes are always retained. So one can have a total of 8 different modes at any one time--the 4 presets and 4 customs. Do I have it right now? Thanks again for everyone's help!

Mac_user82; One more question, about custom riding modes. The manual says one can create up to 4 custom modes. Does that mean one can just adjust the exact assistance level of the 4 preexisting modes, or that one can create an additional 4 custom modes (thus giving a total of 8 modes)? Thanks!

Thanks again. I am a complete road rider only--haven't been on my mountain bike in 3 years. I would plan on using the navigation functions to explore new routes in surrounding counties--there are world class road routes all around me and I only do a limited number routinely now (I am retired so I have time to explore every day). I certainly understand the expense and as long as the unit works for me (given the problems many have had) it would be worth it. But I mentioned the fitness because it is surprising to me that displays with multiple fitness parameters are not the norm. The Bosch unit measures the rider's power input as part of the system, so it should be easy to display. To get my regular road bike to display power would require specialized cranks at over USD 1000. I guess there is just not much demand among electric bike riders otherwise I would expect more aftermarket (e.g., Garmin) solutions.

That's good to hear. Have you used the custom screens and if so can you freely mix and match all parameters on a single screen?

Still interested I guess in answers to my original questions. Most people seem to be having the most trouble with maps and navigation. I am most interested in customization of power and other fitness indicators.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have seen the Purion but was hoping for something that would allow more fields per screen so I don't have to switch screens while riding. I use Wahoo RFLKT on my regular road and mountain bikes but it obviously couldn't control the motor assist and couldn't read the power numbers. Thus my query about the Nyon. But I certainly understand your comments.

New here and new to electric bikes. I live just outside San Francisco and am planning to purchase a Haibike with Bosch Performance mid-drive next month. Despite mixed reviews online here and elsewhere I am considering upgrading the Intuvia to the Nyon, based primarily on my desire to have more information/customization of individual screens (I am aware that it is technically not available in she U.S.). I do have a couple of very specific questions which I cannot answer after reading the owners manual twice. I am hoping some folks here can answer these. 1) I know one can create custom screens for the "Ride"and "Fitness" screens. My question is whether one can specifically combine the two types of parameters on the same screen? Specifically, I am interested in a screen that has mostly Ride parameters but has a field for heart rate (from my chest strap monitor). Is it possible to do that? Just can't tell from the guide as it does not give a full description of the possibilities. 2) Can the current power input (by the rider not the motor) be displayed as a number as opposed to only the graph shown in the Nyon marketing videos? And can that also be incorporated into any of the custom screens? 3) Is there any other unit out there that the Intuvia could be upgraded to which would offer these options yet still control the motor assist levels?
