  1. I got Rocket a few months ago. I have a spare battery because my previous Boxer trike broke apart after 9 years and I had 2 batteries for it. As I had the 2 batteries recelled and the capacity increased I don't need the Rocket battery. PM me to discuss further if you want it.
  2. Don't you get frustrated when posters don't give the result after getting advice here? Apologies for not doing so. It was the cold that caused the battery slump. The batteries carried on for another 7 years & 3500 miles. They were recelled last year by Jimmy just before he went to Cyprus. The Ah was upped from 12 to 20. On my new Boxer Rocket trike I get just over 60 miles per charge compared to 40 on the old trike.
  3. As you say they changed from 2 tubes to a single box structure. The Rocket has the box construction but I will take your advice re the spray.
  4. IT is was a Boxer Trike. Heard an ominous creak from the cargo box section. On the way to the bike shop to get it checked the 2 halves got divorced. Fortunately I was on a cycle path not the road. The replacement arrived yesterday. An ex-demo Boxer Rocket trike with 53 miles on the clock. I have dismantled the old trike. Electrics, brakes, wheels are the same on both. My family are into nicknames. In 2 weeks I've gone from "The twat in a hat" to "Half a bike Mike" to "Rocket Man".
  5. I had knee ligament problems last year. Couldn't cycle and had to go up the stairs one step at a time. NHS rest but use advice followed but did not work. Read about zero drop aka barefoot footwear. Tried a pair and the problem went away instantly. Now have zero drop walking boots, slippers, shoes & steel capped boots.
  6. Here is one for the armchair lawyers:- What if you run over your own dog? I was riding my e-trike with my dog and 13yr old grandson in the front cargo box. Grandson wanted to cuddle the dog as we went along & unclipped the restraining lead. Dog jumped out of the box and I ran over her.
  7. Hi Cem So sad Jimmy didn't get to realise his dream with his 'super car'. One of life's gentlemen.
  8. I used to spend a couple of days in Telford each year when I took my motorhome to Dave Newell to have it serviced. Would walk to Blists Hill Victorian town with my dog and spend the day there. Great place. One year I had to leave the motorhome with Dave as I had to get to the New Forest for a pet sitting job. I walked with the dog through the town to the railway station. Good infrastructure for walking & cycling. People would ask why I went from Hampshire to Telford just for a service. I told them Dave tells it like it is, no BS.
  9. Update:- Pedal sensor still not working but I have got the throttle to give full power using the P4 setting on KT LCD5. My riding style is to potter (8 to 12mph) without assistance until I need to ascend. I can now manage all the inclines I used to use but have been avoiding. Apologies if this has been on the forum and I haven't seen it but Jimmy (ebikebatteries.co.uk) is back. So I will stick to 36V and have the batteries recelled by them. I will ask for help re the pedal sensor when winter is over.
  10. I haven't had a working bike for over 4 months. Remembered i had given daughter in law an old folder to sell for granddaughter's wedding fund. Got it back last week:- Now told my GB3 is being built this week.
  11. My wife is never far from her iPhone &/or iPad. I just find IOS counterintuative. I'm not a technophobe. In the days of the Sinclair QL I used to write my own programs & be up half the night debugging. Over the years I've lost interest in the latest tech must haves. My laptops last me 8 - 10yrs. I use them for emails & the internet. My desktop is used mainly for spreadsheets calculating ingredients for the vape liquids I make and playing music whilst I make them.
  12. I have a Windows 11 pro laptop that I am typing this on. Checked Device Manager and I have HP HD Camera & HP IR Camera listed. Things to do:- Find Motorola phone charging cable. Learn how to use laptop camera. Thank you all for encouraging me out of my comfort zone.
  13. Smartphone. I will need to hire a man & a van to bring the trike home. Will update post with photos as soon as I can.
  14. It's the on screen keyboards. I hate them. Most of my contact is through laptop or desktop keyboards and texts on my big button phone. Now remembered I do still have a smartphone. A Motorola that I had to get when I bought a wireless speaker. Only way to get internet radio stations onto the presets is through an app. Checked and it's at the back of a drawer. Hope it charges. If so I'll get the Apple fanboys to show me how to take photos with it.
  15. My family are all Apple nuts. I tried 2 iPhones. Arthritic hands & an old brain meant they went to a car boot sale. Big buttons rule!
  16. My location is in my profile:- Chandler's Ford halfway between Winchester & Southampton. I think I'm going to bring the trike back home and with the assistance of this forum and either a recommended company or my neighbour ( he built me a micro wire welder ) get it to what I want. I will have to get my sons to take photos as I have a dumb phone and don't have a camera.
  17. The pedal sensor was damaged when the chain came off due to rider error. A wire was broken on the receiver (I hope that's the correct term). I'm hopeless at anything practical so tried to find someone to repair it. None of those advertising ebike repairs would even look at it. Found a guy who worked for Freego before they folded. He couldn't get it working. The trike is now with a company who also can't get it working using the existing controller. They propose replacing the display, controller, battery ( the originals are in need of replacement ) & pedal sensor with the Provomec syatem that they are familiar with. The Provomec controllers, https://www.promovec.com/en-us/components , show pedal sensor type as "speed". I remember reading on this forum that speed controllers are inferior to current controllers. Ideally I would like to use KT dual voltage controller & use 48V batteries but need to find a company capable of doing the job. I'm going to see the company who have the trike tomorrow afternoon. Any advice please.
  18. I have a GB3 on order but there is a delay. I spoke to staff on the MiRider stand at the NEC last month and they said they are waiting for gearbox parts. I had read about the GB3 and seen the mentioned video. When I took my trike to County eBikes, Andover for repair found they are MiRider dealers. Was concerned about the 16" wheels so had a 5 minute ride on a MiRider one and ordered a GB3. Still without a cycle:confused:
  19. This company used to trade as Electric Bike World,54 Bedford Place, Southampton. When I went there a couple of years ago they had closed down. Enquiries revealed that they had stopped selling from the shop but appeared to be selling from an unknown premises with a local tel. no. (probably the same no. on the website). The shop next door had a card left by them to give to enquirers. This just gave the tel. no. and a recommended company for bike servicing :- DC Cycles who turned out to be excellent. Nice to know I have a receller nearby as my 2 6 yr old batteries are down to about half the initial range.
  20. Boxer cargo trike (tadpole type). Moved in close to a kerb to let a load of cars pass. Leaning into the camber. Hit a pothole. Now I'm leaning away from camber. Trike is tipping and I steer into kerb. Back end swings hard into the kerb as I come to a stop. Brake caliper bracket on frame cracked & twisted. Waiting on a reply from a mobile welder.
  21. Great response from Hampshire County Council. I can book putting BIKE in reg. no. box. My elder son told me no one books just turn up. Booked and all slots were free. On arrival the site was busy but no queues. Won't bother to book next time.
  22. Last week I emailed the Hampshire County Council recycling office asking for a solution as my trike is a car replacement. It's been passed to "the team" for a solution. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
  23. Don't hold your breath I will want to put them on everything. Problem is I am a complete numpty when it comes to fitting anything. The part of my brain that deals with how the position of parts/things relate to the position of other parts/things doesn't work. I will need to take my trike to a bike shop so they can work out what I need, order & fit. With another 2 months of house arrest it won't happen soon.
  24. Thanks for the link. Recently replaced a suspension seatpost and have been googling secure bolts to make it harder to steal. This is much simpler than the bolts I found.
