  1. 905 Freewheel I thought I should add the following to the advice given in the above posts: The pins in both type of plug connector can be removed by carefully easing back the locking catches within the plug housing (black 8 way type) or on the pins (5 way type) and sliding the pins out. A small flat bladed jewellers screwdriver normally works OK. However the catches on the black 8 way connector type do not always spring back into the locked position (its not really designed to be reused) so great care is needed when reassembling as if these catches are not properly engaged with the pins the pins can slip back into the housing which could potentially lead to poor contact and possible overheating. You also need to check the yellow pin locking inserts are in place in both halves of the connector as without these in place the above catches will not be properly secured. There should be one of these yellow inserts in each part of the connector (the two inserts are different for the male and female half of the connector). I keep spares in stock of these yellow inserts as I sometimes find them missing on used bikes. Also please check the orange sealing gasket is in place and properly located in the controller half of the connector as this can be dislodged preventing the plug from fully engaging. Also likewise the red wire entry seals. Finally we will be publishing on the website a service bulletin covering these issues along with routine maintenance that we would recommend on these connectors to ensure long term reliabilty. 2. Wisper rear light Vikki is correct. You will need to remove the two screws at the back of the light and then replace the 4 AAA batteries. Norman Wisper Service wisper.service@wisperbikes.com See the whole range @ wisperbikes.com
  3. Pedelec sensor Sorry to hear you are having this problem. The pedelec sensor depends on a good fit between the disc containing the magnets and the bottom bracket (pedal) axle. This is achieved by a series of small teeth moulded into the centre of the disc that grips the axle. This arrangement allows for the disc to be slid sideways towards the sensor during installation or maintenance until a gap of about 1 mm is achieved between the tip of the fixed sensor and the disc. The fixed sensor should not touch the disc and no lubrication should be applied. A periodic check is recommended to make sure this gap is maintained through a full 360 degree turn of the crank as the sensor bracket can be accidentally bent during use or mud etc can accumulate which can impact on the proper operation of the sensor. If your disc is spinning independently on the axle we will need to provide you with a replacement disc. Fitting would be best left to the dealer you purchased this bike from. I can provide further advice on fitting if you email me on the address below. regards Norman Norman Hopkinson Wisper Service wisper.service@wisperbikes.com See the whole range @ wisperbikes.com .
  4. Wisper brakes Just to confirm Davids earlier comments we are investigating this problem as a matter of urgency. I would strongly recommend cleaning braking surfaces both on the discs and rims of new 2009 model Wispers before riding the bike for the first time to ensure any manufacturing residues are removed. Proprietary brake cleaning fluids are available from most cycle outlets or a suitable degreasing solvent can be used providing it does not leave a greasy residue or present any other hazard. Do not attempt to clean the friction material though and dispose of any contaminated brake pads and replace with new items A similar cleaning process should be used before replacing disc pads or brake blocks during routine maintenance. If any Wisper owners are concerned that the disc pads on their new 2009 bikes have been contaminated with manufacturing residues please contact me via wisper.service@wisper bikes.com and I will provide replacement pads immediately.
