Buying options, opinions welcome
Hi there Not sure how the cycle to work scheme in its entirety works but here's a scenario to perhaps consider. Buy a donor bike, in My case a Carrera Vulcan MTB £380 and with incredible spec for the price. Buy a kit, in My case a 48v 1000watt rear hub motor for £599 = £980 for the on road total price. This bike does have full hydraulic clarks M2 disc brakes..... you'll need them! And preload and lockouts on the folks that you requested. Best of luck man. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

48v to 52v battery
Hi Nealh The only info I have on My dolphin battery is as follows 48v 13ah Samsung cells I recently purchased this has a full conversion kit from Electric bike conversion Ltd (EBC) I am very very pleased with the kit and indeed the performance, but then I stumbled on this article regarding 48v -52v upgrade! And who doesn't want more power out of almost the very same kit! And yes it is for off road use. I have a Freego 36v 16ah folder for road use. Cheers mate. And here's a photo of the battery pack. Cheers Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

48v to 52v battery
Hello Mate And thanks for your swift reply. I've not tempered with it, but I was under the impression that all dolphin cases are the same size, and with( Luna) selling a 52v 17.5ah dolphin battery, I just presumed they were a standard size. Thanks again pete Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

48v to 52v battery
Wow what an informative link, thank you so much for that. You did say come back to you with any questions, so here goes. 1. For My 1000watt motor, the equation I'm now using is 48v × 18amp or 30amp peak to get a realistic total. 2. Nothing in the article has suggested any negatives on upgrading to 52v, would You agree on that? Also if I do upgrage, is it possible to find someone to upgrade My existing battery pack, or is it wait 3years or so, and go for 52v then? I really would value you thoughts and advise on this. 3. If you add 1 more series of cells ie: 13s to 14s to achieve the 48v to 52v upgrade, then surely you increase the total ah of the battery pack almost as a by-product of simply adding more cells. Again thanks again for you help on this issue. PS: I'm trying to learn all this at break neck speed so please bare Me. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

48v to 52v battery
Hi guys I'm trying to find a company, or someone in the UK that can upgrade My 48v 13ah dolphin style battery to a 52v pack. Also would this upgrade in turn up the ah rating -surely it must right? I recently read an article that suggests you should try an make your volts + ah equation = the grand total of your motor watts. In My case 1000watt, at present I'm only achieving 48v ×13ah= 624Wh. 380watts doing nothing, unused! Can anyone offer any advice, or have I got this equation all wrong. PS: My controller is 48v –30AH Max- 18AH rated Fully Matched Intelligent Controller Cheers guys.

Best conversion kit for 27.5 inch hybrid bike
Hello dovv I too had the same issues regarding 27.5 inch wheels on My Carrera Vulcan. I finally found Electric bike Conversions (EBC) in Datchworth Hertordshire. They have been brilliant to deal with, phone, interactive chat, and of course email, they will always pick the phone up immediately if you need them. I posted on here about 3 weeks ago (48v 1000watt rear hub 13ah Samsung battery EBC conversion kit) this is the kit I purchased off them about 8weeks ago now for £599. Keeping it on power 1&2 And occasionally giving it a touch of throttle I got 40 miles out of it just this Saturday, and it still was reading 1 bar of battery left. Bare in mind I've got the LCD set to the highest speed setting 72kph! If I was to lower that to the legal 25kph limit, that of a 250watt motor, which incidentally is easy to do, and takes seconds - all in the manual that comes with the kit. I'm sure you can squeeze even more out of it. And of course for you where distance is the No1 goal, You can purchase the very same kit from Cycle tech in Oldam greater Manchester for £60 more with a 15ah battery option, these guys are also a fabulous company to deal with. Here's a couple of photos of My conversion. PS: They also supply 250watt, and 500watt option too. Best of luck. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk

MTB 48V 1000watt conversion kit from EBC
That's the best shot I have of it. Feels robust but will have close look at it tomorrow with a view to securing it to the brake side. Thanks so much for your advice, We need guys like you who know your stuff to share your knowledge and indeed potentially keep us safe with this added power and speed. Cheers d8veh. MTB 48V 1000watt conversion kit from EBC
Yes early days but the kit is very responsive even quick! I really put it though its paces last week and weekend trying to almost totally discharge the battery a couple of times to condition it - I read somewhere. Basically did about 40% throttle only, 30% in level 5 assistance, and the rest in level 1&2 . I got 25miles out of it with one battery bar remaining under these conditions mostly flat with just a couple of reasonable climbs and a strong wind. Glad to hear you found EBC a good company to deal with. It's so worrying when you're looking on the net for a good kit at a fair price from a trustworthy company.
