Anyone ever tried to implement regenerative braking?
Some high end manufacturers have successfully implemented regen on their bikes in the past (and may still be doing it). Do some searching for (now old) threads with Stromer owners discussing this at length (not so much here on pedelecs UK - I'm thinking of endless sphere and possibly EBR) . Most of those models are direct drive hub, S-pedelecs and thus already have brake levers with switches which are then used to activate a well implemented and programmable regen if needed, as well as operating the rear brake light. IIRC, as has been pointed out here, regen isn't very effective when used in certain (most) parts of the world where the terrain is mostly flat or gentle downhills, so then, its not worth bothering with, BUT ... in other areas where its particularly hilly (and one is braking a LOT of the time with steep downhill gradients), then its actually very worthwhile, both in energy recovery, but also saving in brake pads. Trouble is, this use case scenario is not typical for the majority of cycle routes. People living in the Alps or Pyrenees might beg to differ

Prices of the electricity we use to charge
Andrew Bridgen was one of the few that tried to bring the Post Office Horizon accounting scandal to light, while the majority tried to cover it up and vilify anyone who dared speak the truth. Here we are, twenty odd years later. The Post Office scandal is at last out in the open. Andrew Bridgen has been shown to have been correct all along. It would therefore appear that his credibility in bringing to public attention matters that need to be investigated, yet for whatever reason are being suppressed, is actually very high. What is that famous quote- Truth Passes Through Three Stages: First, It Is Ridiculed Second, It Is Violently Opposed. Third, It Is Accepted As Self-Evident The big question is, will it take another 20 years for this particular scandal and cover-up to finally be accepted as reality and Andrew Bridgen will once again be shown to have been on the right side of history.

Advice on correct bike size (Cube reaction pro)
Something seems odd here. I'm often a Large in a bike frame, however whenever I've had to ride any of my wifes's bikes to check them out etc, I've always been able to get the seat post to the correct height (albeit the rest of the bike might be WAY too small), but she's usually a small frame. Not being able to adjust the seatpost of a medium framed bike high enough for a 5 ft 9 rider ... Like I said, something isn't right.

If you were buying a Giant, then you'd probably be an ML. But as most other bike brands don't have this intermediate sizing, then while you might be on the taller end of Medium, I think you'd be much more of the short end of Large! So at 5 ft 9, I do think its the medium that would be the closest to the right size! (unless Cube have radically changed their sizing over the last few years!!)

What makes you say that? You're only 5ft 9 Medium sounds about right to me in Cube sizing. What was this 'research' ??- What e bike for my gf?
Hmmm. Yea, that is on the shorter side of short... However a female friend of mine has got to be a fair bit under 5 ft as well, and she did end up managing ok on a XS womans specific Cube ebike. I forget what model. I'm pretty sure its got 'ws' in the title. Maybe a Cube access WS ? If you can find one of those in stock somewhere, I'd certainly give it a test ride as you maaaaaay be able to get away with it (and remember that most people incorrectly want to set the seat height WAY lower than it should be - so get the seat correctly set for her leg length, and THEN see if your GF fits. If she still thinks it too high, then work on the GF rather than look for another bike )- Brexit, for once some facts.

I'm pretty sure you are wrong there. He's a qualified physician and I seem to recall that he had a conventional medical practice some years ago. But whatever. Look past any biases or preconceptions you have of the guy himself, ignore anything he says that's simply his opinion, and instead concentrate on the information he's linking to., because that is what the article is about. So tell us what we should be ignoring (and why) from: "Persistent varicella zoster virus infection following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination was associated with the presence of encoded spike protein in the lesion by Mayuko Yamamoto MD, PhD, Misaki Kase MD, Hozumi Sano MD, Reiko Kamijima, Shigetoshi Sano MD, PhD" https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cia2.12278 "Herpes zoster following BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 vaccination in patients with autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic diseases: a case series" https://academic.oup.com/rheumatology/article/60/SI/SI90/6225015?login=false And then you can move on to the other sources referenced in the article. I look forward to your considered reply.- Brexit, for once some facts.

Ah. Redacted! Yes, they are doing some really good work and seem to also be reporting on things that for whatever reason, are often/always missing or misreported from the mainstream media. I'm kind of shocked that youtube hasn't banned the channel. Yes I realise that everything they report is out there and demonstrably exists, but then that hasn't stopped other channels from being pulled for doing the same. Same for platforms like Twitter. And what Elon is doing in releasing 'the twitter files' should be one of the biggest stories EVER because of what's coming to light. But then ... its crickets pretty much everywhere apart from the few sources such as Redacted who are actually reporting on what's going on.- Brexit, for once some facts.
A belated thank you for that information. I had not heard of "the conservative woman" website prior to a couple of weeks ago, when it was mentioned by someone on a phone-in radio show. Your pointing to it here then made me search it out. Very interesting. And not really what I was expecting going by its title! It seems to be one of the few sites out there discussing, among other things, unprecedented health issues that seem to be happening, yet do not appear to be discussed in the mainstream media. Even people on forums such as these aren't talking about it. Fascinating.- Brexit, for once some facts.
I haven't really been keeping up with the news recently. Do we know why there seems to be these massive delays to get into A&E ?- Brexit, for once some facts.

On that note - I see that you snipped the squash off fairly close to the main body. Was this because the vines were still growing with younger squash still ripening further along the vine? Or is that how you generally do it? I used to think like this. Now, I look upon the financial savings of veg growing as one of the LEAST important aspects. For me, far more important now are (in no particular order of importance): 1. You can get a very positive, natural exercise regimen by doing regular gardening activity. Its kind of like the benefit you get by cycling to work instead of taking the car/bus/train. Its worth it even if it DOESN'T save you any money! 2. There is something very healthy about 'grounding' yourself when working with the soil (and I mean that in both a spiritual and electrical sense!) 3. Its the only way you can 100% guarantee you are eating something that you have control over what's been sprayed on it!! and I think that's a LOT more important that the vast majority of the population are aware of or are willing to admit to.- Haibike trekking Bosch cog type?
Does anyone happen to know whether the 2019 Haibike trekking models with the (I believe) 16 tooth cog on a Bosch performance CX motor, need the rather expensive custom Haibike cog, or can these models use a much cheaper generic 'flat' (with no offset) version that you can get for around a tenner? (as opposed to 6-10 times the price for the haibike part! and that's if you can get stock!!) I know there are some Haibikes that need a 5mm offset, but I've seen people mention this is used for boost spacing? I don't think the trekking models would have boost? TIA- Bosch sprocket help.
Any chance of an update on this? I'm trying to find out whether Haibike users with the Bosch motors (with the small 15/16 type tooth cog) are stuck having to buy the rather expensive proprietary Haibike replacement part, or is there a workaround where you can use the MUCH cheaper generic options?- do expensive sunglasses make any difference to cheap ones.
Fascinating. So your analysis seems to come to the conclusion that staying away from nature, cutting back on physical activity, and consuming possibly toxic, nutrient deficient beverages, has actually improved aspects of your health. Have you considered a job as a Government health advisor? I'm sure you'd fit in nicely with their plans come the next pandemic. :) :)- do expensive sunglasses make any difference to cheap ones.
Might you have done something else re lifestyle, diet etc? I'm curious and ask because my wife had really, REALLY sensitive eyes for most of her life. She also HAD to wear strong sunglasses every time she went out in the sun. However we realised some months ago that she seems MUCH better, if not almost 'cured' from this now. And while nothing specific for the eye issue has been done, she has radically changed her diet in the last few years for other health reasons, which in the past I'd have thought were probably unrelated, but now I'm starting to wonder?- do expensive sunglasses make any difference to cheap ones.
Interesting. What do you think caused your (and other people's!) eyes to be overly light sensitive in the first place ? And what changed so they aren't now? I'm suspecting that this light sensitivity isn't a 'natural' / 'normal' thing. But I haven't yet looked into what might cause it. - Advice on correct bike size (Cube reaction pro)
