i already have a very good ping 10ah but as I only use 2ah per day i was thinking of a smaller setup

Well thanks for all the help, i saw it had been read many times;) Turns out that what I thought was medium power was in fact my own legs, the pedelec sensor had been knocked out. It proves what we already know, ebikes make you fitter without the drama. rob

A rather strange thing has started to happen with my controller. The setup is like this 8Fun rear motor. A controller - not sure who makes it. 3 way power switch Thumb throttle. If I power on the bike in full power position everything is fine - full power is there. When I switch to low power mode and then try and get full power back again, it only goes to med power? I have to switch to low power, hold the throttle down and then switch to full power which sometimes tricks it into full power again but not all the time! What is going on here?

Interesting idea, I am not 100 percent sure but you would need a motor designed for such a varied output, I think a crank motor would do what you want. From what I understand the controller doesnt limit the speed, its the overall ratios of volts, internal gearing (rpm) and wheel size

Ah flec, that goes without saying. I was sure you could spec a good controller .

Size/shape? Programmable? Power rating? Regeneration? Console/Display?

After 800 miles (ish), i am finding my bike to be a bit jarring as I hit speed bumps for over 1.5 miles of my daily commute. I have always been a fan of stiff frame set-ups but that was before I maintained a good average speed. I also went off-road tonight for the first time -what fun, the temptation not to pedal becomes almost too much:) Anyway, I got caught in a bike worn rut that almost got the better of me - at that point I thought suspension would have helped me get out of there - I am correct? My dear old GT is 20 years old now and the efit feels like it is taking a toll on it so I am thinking of replacing it with a good full suspension bike and fitting my kit to it. What do you guys think, recommendations, etc? cheers rob

that's a nice bike, motor is a little on the large size but for those watts it will be. At 7000 euros it should be hand made and blessed with the blood of a 1000 chickens:)
