  1. Hi the Q100 or the Q100H? Is BMSbattery the best place to buy from as the postage to the UK is massive?
  2. I have two Swytch kits on 700c wheels and two Brompton kits and would like to add another 700c electric wheel to my best titanium bike. I need a new front motor and I'll get the wheel built up by a very good wheel builder. I will take some of the bits off a Brompton for the battery connection. I'm over 100kg and the Swytch motors get me everywhere I need to go as long as I pedal enough. What would be the best front wheel motor to buy and an idea where to buy it from, please?
  3. I have 4 Swytch kits: two bromptons and two on 700c's. I was one of the early adopters so I got mine for a very good price and zero import duty. Both of the Bromptons work great and my only complaint would be the battery pack interferes with the Brompton bag. Other than that they work fine. For both of the 700c bikes we had to file the forks down too much (next time I'll file the axle). We had to send the original wheels back as they were faulty. Swytch replaced them and they have been great. My wife and I have done nearly 4000 miles mainly on our proper bikes and we are happy with the kit. We have the full size so called 50 mile battery packs and we can do about 30 miles with them living where we do. If I was buying again I would probably look at Vekkit as the kit looks nearly the same and has a bluetooth pedal sensor (though they are expensive too)
  4. They are still around but very very very slow at responding. I'm not sure if the very very very slow bit was too fast for them. I've been waiting for two replacement sensors for weeks and nothing has arrived. Their message of "convert any bike" does not apply to modern(ish) carbon frames as the cheap pedal sensor does not fit. Also the quoted range of 25 miles or 50 miles from the respective battery packs is very optimistic. It's a pity as the kit is light in weight and would be ideal for me if it worked. So far I have two Brompton kits and two full sizew kits. One of the Brompton kits is very jerky and I have requested a replacement wheel but I am being ignored. The two full size kits do not fit the intended bikes as they are carbon and I'm waiting for the new sensors. Finally I think the small team at Swytch did not anticipate how much work was involved in delivering so many kits and are currently overwhelmed. Oh and they didn't test enough bikes before they released the kits.
  5. When did Swytch inform you about the software issue? I was going to go out on my wife's Brompton to see if it was any better but, if there is a software issue with the controller, I'll wait for a fix. This is assuming there will be a fix.
  6. I've swapped the battery with my wife's and it is still jerky. Sadly the top speed now appears to be 14.4 and it takes several pedal revolutions before the power cuts in. I'm going to charge up the smaller battery pack and try that. It is very strange that the same packs from the same supplier are so different in their characteristics.
  7. I'll swap the battery packs on my Bromptons and see if there is any difference. It would be great to solve this problem as Swytch are being useless.
  8. That's the downside of being over 100kg for me.
  9. I think if you're running on level 5/6 and cycling over about 10mph you're unlikely to be using any battery power. On that basis you could easily do 50 miles if your legs would last that long.
  10. David888, I think running on levels 5/6 and mainly flat roads I would get about 25 miles. Throw in a couple of hills (with my heavy weight) this would reduce greatly. However, I'm looking forward to seeing how your new motor performs.
  11. David, that just makes me jealous. If you had said you also get the quoted 50 mile range I would have cried.
  12. David, what are they offering and is it for the Brompton or a full size kit?
  13. I've been offered yet another sensor that should come in the next two weeks. I'll keep you all posted.
  14. Fed Up with Swytch They have sent me two V12 sensors but they don't fit either. I have emailed to ask what they suggest but I guess they are all in America as I have not had a reply. I still have two road kits I cannot use. Maybe the Swytch guys would like to visit me and prove they can convert Any bike. It's either that or they can collect the useless kits I have.
  15. There are solutions for hollowtech on the Swytch facebook page. My old bike has a Dillinger kit on it. I was going to put the Swytch on my unused carbon Ribble but the bottom bracket is too wide.
  16. I have both the Brompton kits working and mostly I like them. Mine cuts in and out a bit and it is a bit slow for the power to cut in I will play with the settings and see if it improves. I'm running on the "50 mile" battery and I think 50 miles is very very optimistic. And, of course, I still have two kits that will not fit on the intended bikes.
  17. Looking at the directors for panda and Swytch, they are the same person. I have had several emails from Oliver saying customer satisfaction is their number one priority and they are working on the issue of the PAS sensor. Problem is their timescales.
  18. I have sent Hayley a WhatsApp. It's been read. I wonder what will happen.
  19. I've had an email from Oliver saying someone will contact me. I won't hold my breath. Thank you Tigs. I have had an email from Oliver saying someone will contact me. I won't hold my breath.
  20. The front wheel at 9mm for a road drop out has taken a lot more filing than I would have liked and I think I have a bit to file off yet. Compared to my Dillinger 350w front wheel it is really light but If I can get up the hills around here I have yet to find out. I am hopeful I will get it working but so far I think they need to change the "convert any bike" bit as I an sure it is not true.
  21. I was brave (or stupid) and ordered two 700c kits and two Brompton kits. All the kits arrived a week or so ago. Sadly one of the kits is without a battery or charger. Emailing Swytch has not worked and they have no telephone number to call. The PAS does not fit on my donor bike as it's a carbon frame with a fat bottom bracket. Swytch say they do other types of PAS but I am waiting for a reply. In the meantime the tyres came for the Brompton kits so I'll try to put one together this week. If anyone is thinking of buying from Swytch I would wait until you can get a telephone number. Their only interest appears to be more sales and positive marketing; customer service is not on their list.
  22. The motor is 250w, 30Nm torque and won't be available until April.
  23. That is spooky I have been chatting to pandaebikes about that this morning.
  24. I thought you guys were experts and here to impart your knowledge?
  25. any advice on the Dillinger kit? Or do you all buy individual components?
