Alien Kit vs Alien bike
To Mapman: Purchased kit in January 2009 (had it professionally fitted to be honest) - get 17-18mph de-restricted and I weight circa 19.5 stones !! Really impressed with the power of the 250watt motor/battery combination. The front hub motor looks particularly attractive.

Alien Kit vs Alien bike
I purchased the 36V Alien kit & put it onto a half decent mountain bike - works great & no issues.

Help on conversion kits please
I have had the 36V 10Ah Alien kit fitting since January this year - cant recommend it highly enough (especially when using it in Off Road mode - much better) !

E-Bike Seating Positions
Thanks Flecc & all - the Raleigh High Rise bars look like something I would be interested in if problem not solved by adjusting heights of bar/seat etc.

E-Bike Seating Positions
Hello all, I`ve been running an E-Bike for some 6 months or so - converted my existing mountain bike using the AlienOcean 36V 250 Watt kit (I have nothing but praise to say for the kit - quality/powerfull motor, decent battery, controller works well). Recently, I`ve started to get pins & needles in my hands when riding (11 mile trip to work each way each day). I strongly suspect my handlebar is too low & I`m putting too much weight/force on my hands & lower arms. seating position seems to be about right. Is it worth simply lifting the handlebars higher or do you know of anyone that supplies a more upright handlebar system (similar to the ones the Dutch seem to like) that would not look too stupid on a mountain bike ? I appreciate a high seat/low handlebar maybe better for aerodynamics.

Alien gents power problem
I`ve been (and still am) really impressed with my Alien 36V kit which I purchased in January 2009. Only problem I have had, similar to this, was when I went over a large, sharp bump which dislodged the 3-pin kettle like connection that plugs into the battery. Very easily sorted - I hope it simply ends up with being eg. a lose cable as it`s a really decent/well thought out kit.

Aesthetics?
That looks like an Alien kit with the smart looking front motor - very similar to mine

Switching from thumb to twist throttle - help
Just in process of switching from a thumb throttle to twist throttle & need little help with the wiring. Both connectors are the same but the 3 wires are different. My existing thumb throttle has a Black, Red & White wire in that order. The new throttle has a Green, Black & Red wire in that order. Is it simply a case of switching the wire over Black to black, Red to Red & White to Green then plugging it in ? Seems to make logic.

Alien Vs Ezee kits
I bought the Alien kit in January this year and am really impressed with the quality of it even down to the packaging it came in ! The battery is impressive, the motor is powerful (I weight 19+ stones !) and the instructions are clear. Personally, I would have preferred a twist throttle with the kit rather than the thumb throttle supplied, but it works well & he will send the twist if you ask. The best bit about the kit ?................ de-restrict it (takes about 5 seconds) and you have a different bike, MUCH better but, naturally, less miles. Personally, can`t speak highly enough about the Alien kit from experience. I bet it easily compares with more expensive kits.

E-Bike Indicators
Does anyone make any decent front/rear indicators for e-bikes or any bikes that are worth looking at ? Googled this a few nights ago & not really found much, maybe because most cyclists feel they would be a waste of time ?

Really struggling to find a Twist Grip throttle in UK to suit a 36V 10Ah system at a reasonable price. Anyone know where I can get hold of one ?

New to E-Biking - First impressions
Being a `newbie` to e-bikes, I`d just like to share with you my experience over the last few days after converting my mountain bike to an e-bike using an AlienOcean 36V 10Ah kit – this is not a review just an observation about how the thing works. Travelling to work is 11 miles each way and I`m a big guy (19St+). First few days, I rode the bike all the way (mostly flat) using a combination of pedalling & power. My route is basically from one end of the Fylde Coast in Lancashire to the other passing Blackpool Tower (England) on the way. The first few days I noticed that: 1) using the thumb throttle made little or no difference, it seemed on or off 2) The lights on the battery meter were all still on at the end of the journey and stayed on throughout the ride. It took about 1.5 hrs to recharge the battery from full. Today, I decided to temporarily de-restrict the controller as I`m riding on the lower promenade. Wow, the bike seems like a different animal with much more power available. I managed to do an 11 miles journey in 40 mins into a headwind with not a lot of effort. Some observations on the journey: 1) The throttle now works like I think it should work with proportional power depending on how far you open it 2) The top lights on the meter now go down a bit as you use the power more and the further you get into the journey. At the end of the journey, I had used about 2 lights. I have absolutely no connection with AlienOcean but cant speak highly enough about the kit and quality of the motor, battery & controller…….so far

What happens when you cant get a replacement battery ?
I`m slightly concerned as to what I will do if I cant get a replacement battery (36v 10Ah) Lithium Polymer for my Alien kit in a few years time. Are there battery companies out there that would simply supply me with a suitable battery with a built in management system ? (Ping batteries keep getting mentioned on the forum). Probably something I shouldn`t be too concerned about but companies do cease trading or change their products. I love my Alien conversion but would hate to think I maybe stuck without a battery in a few years time when mine is worn out.

Alien 36V Conversion Kit
I purchased a kit from AlienOcean in January 2009 & it is definately the brushless Bafang motor from what i have read on this site. I can only assume he has changed the motors unless anyone knows any different ?

De-restricting e-bikes
The bike/kit is an Alien 36V/10AH and this would be Off-Road use only. Thanks
