New eBiker with Motorhome?
We purchased a new motorhome in March last year and faced a similar dilemma to yourself. My wife purchased an Emu step framed ebike and I built one using a new Carrera Subway 2 bike and a Yose rear hub kit and I had a towbar fitted and use a Thule bike rack. When we went away last year we used to bikes to cycle around the local area, shopping and visiting the pub for a meal and a few drinks and find it a great way of getting around combined with using local transport. I'm slightly younger than yourself and a regular club cyclist but really enjoy riding my ebike, so much so I have just purchased a new Scott Genius full suspension ebike.

27.5 Inch Wheel Size
I initially purchased for my Carrera Subway 2 fitted with 27.5 wheels a Yose Power 700c rear hub kit and purchased a 700c disc front wheel from Halfords. After running it like this for some time I rebuilt the rear motor into a 27.5 rim with new spokes and refitted the original front wheel as I wanted to run much wider tyres than the 700c rims would allow.

BBS01B ETM
Hi, just wondered where you purchased your kit from?
-
Yosepower hub kits.
I would spin it by hand first and if it is not spinning freely I would remove the brake caliper to see if it made any difference. Normally if the brakes are binding you can hear them.

Kit v New Bike
Listening to those two we should just buy a ready built bike then!

Hi all
Hi and welcome both of you.

Kit v New Bike
I have seen a few F/S bikes built with a kit but as you say very often there is not enough room for the battery. Just trying to do a bit of research and see if it is possible to build.

Kit v New Bike
Just wondered how a kit such a Woosh or Yose compared power wise, torque etc with a manufacturers built bike eg Haibike, Specialized, Giant etc. A mate of mine is looking to purchase a F/S mountain ebike with one of the usual Bosch, Shimano or Yamaha motors around £2500/£3000 and I just wondered how it would compare to a self built ebike. After riding my Yose powered rear hub drive with 36v/16amp battery would I find one disappointing unless it was derestricted? I am now looking at building a mountain bike, either hardtail or F/S and fitting a C/D kit as I have enjoyed building my current bike and I am now trying to learn as much as possible about the different types of kits and controllers etc and which is the best one to go for both bike and kit wise.

Yose Power 350w rear drive - Kit review and stuttering fault
Just a quick update, sent Yose an email last Wednesday and received a reply from Winona Thursday saying they would send me a new PAS. This morning Fedex man delivered a package with a new PAS from China, now fitted and just been out for a spin and bike working great. Excellent service from Yose.

A dry day is a Bafang day..
Thats a nice looking bike, did you convert it yourself and just wondered what kit it is? No such luck for me, waited in all morning for a bathroom suite to be delivered which I will have the pleasure of fitting only to find out at 1.15pm but its going to be delivered tomorrow.

Yose Power 350w rear drive - Kit review and stuttering fault
I will give them a try tomorrow thanks and let you know. Everything worked fine before I rebuilt the rear wheel.

Yose Power 350w rear drive - Kit review and stuttering fault
Just sent an email to Yose asking if they can supply a new PAS as only purchased the kit in July 2018. I will see what they say but everyone else appears to rates their customer service.

Does getting an e-bike mean you eventually give up "conventional" bikes??
I am a road club cyclist who in the spring, summer and autumn (warmer weather and older age) cycle anything from 100/150 miles a week with some 70/100 miles rides, Sportives and Audaxes thrown in for good measure. I ride a Van Nicholas titanium road bike amongst others but last year my wife purchased an ebike for when we go away in our motorhome and I converted a new Carrera Subway 2 with a Yose Power rear wheel kit and really enjoyed the ebike experience and I think the bug has bitten. I am now looking to build a full suspension C/D mountain bike as I enjoy the challenge to get something to work as others do on the forum as well but at the moment trying to learn as much as I can. Just built my first rear wheel converting my Yose hub motor from 700C to 650B and all appears fine with it so far. Don't think I will give up with my road cycling yet but you never know.

Yose Power 350w rear drive - Kit review and stuttering fault
Good idea ref GaryMc and I will contact Yose for a warranty replacement as kit was purchased last summer and bike only covered 260 miles.

Yose Power 350w rear drive - Kit review and stuttering fault
Yes enough free space between crank and PAS as had to fit a longer bottom bracket to allow fitment. Just been looking at the settings and everything appears OK.

Yose Power 350w rear drive - Kit review and stuttering fault
Just had the bike upside down and works fine on hand throttle but cuts in and out when pedalling, checked connections and removed crank arm and check PAS but everything appears OK and inner park of PAS turns when other crank turned. Is a faulty PAS the likely outcome? Thanks Alan

Thanks for the info and I'm using the original PAS supplied with the Yose kit.

Bafang G510 Ultra frame build
Looks good and a great bit of welding as well.

Yose Power 350w rear drive - Kit review and stuttering fault
Converted my bike last summer and it has been fine until today. Rode mine for the first time since rebuilding the motor into another wheel rim and mine has started with the same symptoms as yours has had, travelling along OK and then momentarily cutting out and then back in again. Will have to check all the connections and look at the PAS

Yosepower hub kits.
Certainly looks much better with the controller in the seat pack and must do something with mine as I think the frame bag doesn't look right.

New bike
Hi and welcome and your new bike looks very nice. I suppose its a much better bike than your Vulcan-E which sold very quickly but at a bargain price for anyone after one.
