  1. Unfortunately it is really clean and the tangs in the chainwheel move a little like they are supposed to to represent the reduction in light going to the sensor. There are sensors on ebay for £45, so I have to make a decision if I even want to invest that amount in this 6 yr old bike that needs tyres, derailliurr, etc etc. Anyway, just ordered a fido c11 pro cos my hip getting bad again so I might not be able to swing my leg over for much longer anyway.
  2. The motor turns slightly for a split second when powered on. The display works showing speed if I spin the wheel myself. There is no torque vertical bar on the display when I push down on pedal and I restrict the rear wheel from moving much. Because there is no torque being displayed, there is no control or power to the motor. There is no error code on the display. Could it be the torque sensor that screws into the chainwheel on these bikes. I can buy one from Ebay but they are over £40, and since I am skint, I cant waste money if my issue is not fixed. Thank you for reading and replying.
  3. Send the battery to a verified receller on here and let them fix it for you. Saves you trying to wire 4 X 12V batteries together and using them to re-invigirate your battery.
  4. What I was saying is Samsung et Al record how many times the QR code has been submitted to Samsung and if over a threshold, the battery could be fake. Each QR code has a unique code, Samsung checks how many time this code has been submitted, over a certain threshold, Samsung flags it as a possible fake. Would be good, especially if battery is supposed to be new. A flagged up count of how many times the code has been submitted means the battery is not new at all.
  5. Or I suppose could be one of the hall effect wires. You need to search for wiring information. There was a post earlier today about learning wires. If not on here, then on Facebook e-bikes UK
  6. Sounds like the learning wires. Look here or pedelecs website for more info.
  7. Should be a QR code on each cell that can only be produced by Samsung and the like. We scan the QR code and the Samsung website tells us if it is real or not. Feck, I had a think about this. This won't work. What about a counter of how many times the QR code has been submitted to Samsung? Any more than a count of 10 and Samsung put a notice up on their site that if this is a new battery's QR code that has been scanned then immediately send back to seller for a refund as it may be fake.
  8. And it works great. Pity there was no actual setting to set in the display to do this. Thanks again, very much.
  9. I bit the bullet. Not only are the shims important, the bits have to fit back together in a certain way, little nipples having to fit into certain holes, and then the crank fits back into the assembly in a certain way, which I got wrong the first time trying to screw it all back together. And then of course the torque/cadence sensor has the two plastic nubs that the metal L shape from the frame must fit between when putting the crank back on the bike again. Be very careful of the black plastic ring you see around the cranks bolt holes. Nutlok used on the crank Allen bolt. Anyway, here's some more pics if anyone else wants to try this. I have to wait till battery is charged before I can try it out. Thanks.
  10. Before I actually bite the bullet and try to force a spring out, can I buy a complete sprocket assembly off the shelf in case I break any of the tines for cadence / torque? Thanks.
  11. Do i lever it out between what looks to be an end plate on the spring and the metal surround, or is that metal end plate part of that surround, and more importantly can the spring be put back in again? Thanks again.
  12. I did see that post and do reference it above in my question. Your photos seem to show Allen bolts right beside the springs, but in my cog, it seems to be different, so I am wondering how am I going to remove one or two of these. Thanks.
  13. Would you have any photos? Thank you.
  14. Thanks for finding that for me. I had even replied to that last year. Stoopid me not looking at my own posts.
  15. Hi, I need to know how you removed the springs in the carerra torque sprocket. Thanks.
  16. Battery badly worn out on my Falcon ebike, and I need to know a good refurber/seller. Thank you.
  17. Hi, Back to my Carerra cos my battery badly worn out on other e-bike. I could swear I spotted a post where someone took two of the torque springs out of the main Cog, to reduce the amount of torque needed on the pedals, but I cannot find the post. It is not this one: https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/carrera-crossfire-vulcan-torque-sensor.30490/#post-423919 If anyone remembers it, please post the link by reply as I want to do the same. Thank you.
  18. Which way to loosen the cog side Allen bolt that screws the pedal arm into the crank axle? Thanks.
  19. Just got a notification, and I was thinking if doing this, so superb that it can be done and the flag moves more/further easier. I will be doing the same to mine ASAP. Thank you.
  20. Ok guys, In case anyone is looking for this in the future. Can buy these open ended at one end also in case you break the charging lead and know someone that can solder these to the original charging lead. Here's what I bought from RS components. UK.rs-online.com A 50cm extension lead for the charger cable. RS code: 1860356 Desc: RPC-M8-3MS-0.5-M8-3FR-PVC Thanks for offer to help.
  21. Hi, When I got my bike at Xmas, the charger cable had a 6inch extender cable on it. But pulling the bike out of the shed without disconnecting it has broken the plug on the end of it, so now I am left with just the charger cable itself and no doubt in a few months I will break the plug on the end of it. I haven't seen any available on the Halfords site, just the very pricey charger. Does anyone know where these extender cables can be bought? Thanks.
  22. The light manufacturers should design in heated grips as the heat sink for these lights, patent pending, lol
  23. No idea, they were Clarks pads in Halfords. Anyway, they are a heck of a lot better than the ones Iin the pic, they stop the bike so much better.
