  1. Don't get me wrong, the crossfuse is an amazing bike with a solid motor. Just really isn't fit for any real off roading as I found out the hard way! On the plus side I did lose 2 stone on my crossfuse
  2. So I decided to I really needed to get myself a off roading bike as my Crossfuse really sucked doing anything slightly off road in even damp weather. Got a good deal on a E8000 Voodoo Zobop. Paid £2200 with 2 free years ebike cover from Halfords. So I've done a good 2600 trouble free miles on my Crossfuse (active line plus motor) but I was getting super bored of the roads so I got this lovely beast and I'm LOVING it. Had it 4 days and I've already put 120 miles on the clock. The motor is night and day compared to the Active line motor. I was a little worried about the reviews of the E8000 saying it had motor drag and a very aggressive cut out once you hit the 15.5mph limit but I think they have fixed these issues via firmware updates as I get no drag at all and the power delivery is very smooth as is the cut off of power. I still love my Crossfuse and I will be using it to commute and do any road riding with friends but my god going off road is where the fun is at! I feel like a kid again! Edit. P.S please don't comment "why didn't you get X bike from X place. Pointless comments that won't get a reply.
  3. hey man, I'm just hitting my 2000 mark now. My gears still look really good. Just hit my .50 mark on my chain and so replace that in the next 500 miles but the biggest sign of wear is on my chain ring. I think im about 2/3 into the life cycle of that so I'll change both my chain ring and chain at 2500 miles! My bike is completely standard! I had to change my brake pads at 1200 miles and the replacements look like they have a about half the pad left. So yeah, I've found the cycle parts to be a lot shorter than a standard bicycle. I am going to do a re- review when I hit the year mark on my bike! There are a lot of trade offs you get with an ebike which I wasn't fully aware of before getting my bike! I love my Crossfuse, it has been perfect! Never let me down once! Just wish there were better service parts to buy with longer life in them!
  4. for £810 i think it is one of the best bikes for your money! He has ordered another battery via halfords for £270 which isn't too bad. Shame there isn't a 400w pack option but oh well. I think its great for the price!
  5. I found Eco to be not so Eco on the escent to be honest. Still puts a lot of power to the motor. Also you can easily trick the motor to kicking in without putting much effort in at all. Don't forget that it only has a 200w battery pack. I'd still pick my Active line plus motor over a hub any day! Hubs are fun but mid drive motors feel so much more natural and a mid drive is so much more effective!
  6. Well i know 3 people with one now. They are amazing ebikes! Range is VERY low even in Eco. Getting around 10 miles in eco which isn't the best. But saying that they are really easy to ride with no power. Very small amount of drag.
  7. My question is, how haven't they killed anyone yet?
  8. left the bloody tag still on the bike
  9. So my best mate's ebike was finally ready to be picked up from the store today....... He hasn't owned a bike in maybe 20 years. Rides it home and sends me a photo. Says the steering is slightly off..... Can you tell me what the problem is?!??!?! Unbelievable!!!
  10. Yeah so the bike turned up at Halfords today but he couldn't collect it because it didn't have a bloody battery! They said there wasn't one in the box!! truly shocking! Also they refused to find another battery so they have to order a whole new bike..... wow
  11. hi mate, thanks for your reply! What kinda range are you getting out of your battery?
  12. https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/electric-bikes/gtech-escent-650b-electric-mountain-bike-27-5 < link to bike! So I got a message from my friend telling me he has ordered himself a ebike for £900 this morning. I looked at it and it looks ok for £900 but I'm not impressed by the 200w battery! That battery will die very quickly as he is a big guy. IMO it looks ok for him but I'd always go for a mid drive Bosch motor when I'm buying a bike but they cost way more. So my advice was to buy a spare battery as i think he would be lucky to get 10 miles out of 200w..... turns out you cannot buy a spare battery anywhere!! Contacted Gech and they said cycle republic sells them when they don't..... So he is stuck with a 10 mile range.... Anyone know where we can by the V2 battery pack from? any advice form anyone?? lol thanks all
  13. Wow you've had the same bike for 11 years :o that is so crazy! How many miles have you done on it in that time? never needed to replace the motor or anything?
  14. Wow this post went a bit off topic! So it has been a few days now and I'm feeling completely fine. Not a mark on me. My bike has got barely a mark on it part from the pedal and left grip so I'm not going to claim anything as I really just want to move on with my life now. I've put it down to one of them things that happens. We are all human and we all make mistakes and I'm sure the driver is going to look out for cyclists a lot more now! As for the phone call, I'm leaving it. I'm just going to enjoy my amazing ebike and new lease on life!!!! Remember, we are all ebikers here!! Lets get on!!! maybe we can all go on a massive ride one day hehe
  15. So I guess I’m part of the real ebiker club now, had my first off yesterday and it was a super strange one. Cycling home in the rain (in high viz and lights on) as I always do in a great mood, enjoying the bike as I had a REALLY crappy day at work when this woman in a 4x4 pulled into me as I passed the junction clipping my pedal. I was doing around 22mph when she hit me as I was going downhill. I’m 37 and have been riding a motorcycle and driving for 20 years and I’ve NEVER had a crash lol Less than a year on a bike and I get wiped out! Yeah so it gets a bit strange at this point. I hit the floor and being a big guy (100kg) it took the air right out of me. I laid there for a while on the wet road with the rain hitting my face just to give myself a moment. I’ve been winded loads of times in my youth, so I knew I was fine, and I was telling everyone around me that I’m completely fine I’m just winded. I was feeling like a complete tool just laying in the road like that but I just needed a minute to get up. Within moments I had a bunch of people around me so I forced myself to get up to show I was fine as the woman was getting herself into a right state. Well the police and ambulance turned up as I guess someone called them. Told them all I was completely fine, and it looks worse than it is as I was covered in road dirt. I checked over my bike and it looked fine. Few scrapes on the pedal and handle grip. The police took both of our details and said they will be proceeding with reporting the lady for driving without due care and attention. My bike looked fine and I felt fine so I said I’d just cycle home now as everything seemed fine. Just before I left the lady come over to me and said that she was sorry and that she would cover any of my damages to my bike and gear. Part from my pedal and grip my bike is perfect. The road grit was washed put of my bike gear and I feel like I got off very luck. Well…….. I got a very aggressive phone call from her husband saying that they will NOT be covering anything themselves and I will have to claim via their insurance for any damages. He said I needed to know his wife was in bits and refusing to drive her car now...... First off, I wasn’t going to claim for anything at all! I’ve barely got a mark on me and my bike is fine but I won’t let anyone talk to me the way he talked to me. He called ME! I felt like it was dealt with! A bit of a long one I know but I found this super strange and feel like I kept my cool when others would have lost it. This hasn’t put me off cycling what so ever but I will be investing in a cycle cam that is for sure! My ebike has changed my life and this is just another story to tell my grandkids about someday haha
  16. I check my chain every month and it hasn't hit the .5 yet and I'm now at 1800 miles. Still ALL cycle parts are the same including the tyres! The rear Tyre and the brake pads will need replacing in the next 200/300 miles i think! We don't have any really big hills where I live, I think this is why the chain is doing so well!
  17. thank you very much for your replies. ill grab a kmc chain as my spare
  18. So I've been looking for a mid drive bike for the wife and I honestly cannot find a better deal than this https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/electric-bikes/carrera-crosspath-electric-hybrid-bike-18-20-22-frames with the 10% off that would be £1170 for a Bosch Active motor which is a great motor! Am I wrong? I'd love to see some better options for the money!
  19. Yeah I'm running on an Active line plus mid drive motor and it isnt' super hilly around there
  20. You only get 1000 miles from a drive chain??? wow! im a large (105kg) rider who rides 95% on the road and ive not hit the first measurement on my chain measuring tool yet! You must ride really hard lol
  21. How many miles would you expect to get out of mid priced chain? I've just hit 1200 on my chain and it still looks like it is in good shape.
  22. Wow that is amazing! I was told you couldn't get these for Presta tubes! Thank you!!
  23. So I've been buying a bunch of spares for my Ebike and I've come to the chain. A replacement E-bike change costs around about £20 but a stand chain costs £8. I've got a lot of conflicted reports from the internet saying there is no point getting a E-bike drive chain over a standard bicycle chain. What do you guys think?
  24. I would rather just get myself some removable core tubes as my set up has lasted me so well. The slime really done it's job today as I had to pull out 2 pins from my rear tyre and it still didn't go down! Lost some air but it got me home
  25. They do a 700 x 40c? I thought they only went up to a 700 x 38? Wheel sizes do confuse me as I'm not sure if I could replace my 40c tyres with 38s?
