  1. Hi Dom, The photo's were from the Cairngorms, Cheviots, Howgills and the Dolomites
  2. A selection of photos from last year. I haven't used the bike since November, the motor bearings are on their way out. Hopefully they will collapse before next October, I must get back out on it
  3. In the Dolomites, this is when the bearing noise started
  4. Thanks for all the responses, I've been away mountain biking in the Cairngorms with my wife, cold and wet!. My wife used her Cube Access, still going with no problems, half the cost of mine!. I didn't dare use mine for 10 days so I reverted to my old hard tail bike with a Rohloff hub its done thousands of miles in wet weather been abused, jet washed! and it's never given any bother and it's full of bearings. It only requires an oil change once a year and I have never found a trace of water in the oil. I emailed Cube about my bearing problem but they have failed to respond to any of my emails, very poor service, I will not be purchasing any products from Cube in the future, even the dealer responded by stating there warranty service was poor, not good. The annoying thing is my Cube has hardly been exposed to wet due to the fantastic summer.
  5. What a state they are just not fit for purpose, well not in a wet country
  6. I made a mistake I paid £4100 for the bike still expensive, just picked it up from the dealers only to be told the bearings are not covered by the warranty! didn't believe them so I have just rung Cube and guess what bearings are not covered even though it has only done 800 miles! They are classed as wear and tear items. Looks like it's time to quote the sale of goods act although I will have to put a few more miles on it to finish them off I removed the chain and you can feel the bearing, it feels like it's running in grit
  7. Hi thanks, I found a bike shop that is Bosch qualified I will take it there for their opinion . I need to get my bike back first, hopefully next week when I get time. Its probably going to have to wait till next year
  8. Hi Thanks, No movement in the bearings yet just noise, but they won't do anything as they think there is nothing wrong with it! I have no option but to get it back and ride it till it gets worse.
  9. The bike is still at the shop I haven't had time to pick it up, unfortunately they think it's fine so I have no option but to ride it until the bearings hopefully destroy themselves to the point where they can't deny there is a problem. I very much doubt a Bosch rep has seen the bike!
  10. I think I have made a mistake buying a bike with a Bosch motor they seem to have very poor quality bearings and do not seem to be sealed very well. There seems to a large number of people suffering from water ingress and wrecked bearings. If it gets worse looks like I may have to try the small claims court.
  11. The motor in my Cube Hybrid 140 has become noisy, if I remove the chain the bearings feel notchy. The noise is not excessive however you notice the difference when you compare it to my wife's bike. I have returned it to the bike shop but they are a waste of space and know nothing about Bosch motors and are not trained. The shop stated " the Bosch rep has inspected the bike and states they get a bit noisy after a while" sounds like utter B******* to me. Not the sort of service you expect after parting with £5000 oh and it's done 800 miles and is a year old, washed 4 times and never been near a jet wash. Lets hope it fails before my warranty runs out.
