  1. Can you fit a hub motor when the forks have no dropouts , I think the Barracuda has through axels.
  2. Very true my forks don’t have a caliper mount but they are heavy steel forks of an old Ridgeback frame, so I should be able to weld on a mount.
  3. Thanks for the reply, I will have to buy a disc and see if the holes line up . I have good rim brakes but I think the weight of the bike would benefit from hydraulic disc brakes, can’t see why it wouldn’t work either. Andy.
  4. I have a 2009 Bafang 250w front hub motor, on the inside of the case are six blind holes that look like they could be used to fix a brake rotor, do you think this is what they are for ? they are on the side of the motor where the cable connects . Thanks Andy.
  5. I don't want any cheap crap
  6. My bikes been fine never a problem, it's a Ridge back hybrid 27",fitted with a BF90 250w motor in the front wheel and has a 10amp controller But I could do with a bit more torque on steep hills so I did the controller shunt mod with a bit of solder maybe too much .It was great for about fifty miles but I've blown it just couldn't leave well alone. Could anyone recommend a new controller that could handle a bit more current . Any help would be appreciated .
  7. Lidl use these 20v packs for pistol drills, circular saws angle grinders. I have the angle grinder and saw and they aren't bad. They seem to be decent 2000ah cells and 5 for 11 quid isn't bad. I can't see them selling crap batterys or theres going to be a lot of returns.
  8. If it is every revolution when you are peddeling it could be a slack bottom bracket.
  9. Hi, I just bought a rechargeable angle grinder from lidl it has a 2ah 20v battery pack. I had a look inside the battery pack, and there are five green 18650 cells. So are these 4000mah cells. 4000x5 2ah ? Thanks for any comments. Andy.
  10. I never had one but three of my friends had, Andy had a blue one Steve had a red one and Peter had the 5 geared one, needed brazing from time to time and the front wheel used to shake like mad when you went downhill at speed but still an iconic bike. Happy days.
  11. Take the return spring out, that's what I did on my Thumb throttle.
  12. (Are sellers taking over the forum) On a whole I would say no but one or two sellers plug items they have for sale a LOT more than others. Maybe there should be a limit on how many times they can plug there own items. If I were to start a thread on lets say wallpaper I know of one seller that would try to sell me some although it maybe a bit old fashioned for my taste and maybe lead acid based.
  13. That is a longgggggggggggggggggggggggggggg list
  14. Can you get some Mole grips on it and gentley wiggle it until it will unscrew. If you have a electrical soldering iron (big ish 50w or above) you could apply this to the screw until it is very hot then cool it down with penetrating oil, this might also help. Good luck.
  15. You could try a thread locking glue such as Locktite.
  16. Best wishes and a speedy recovery.
  17. If there is no button for off road use and the controller is altered so the bike goes over 15mph on throttle alone then it is illegal to use on the road. And in the very unlikley event that bike is involved in a accident and the equally unlikley chance that the police check the bike you could be in trouble yes or no? .
  18. You can't really expect Wisper to tell you how to make one of there bikes illegal.
  19. 1/ 2009 2/ On this forum 3/ 2009 4/ Bought a Alien kit a 36v road legal and fitted it to my 700c ridgeback. Still going strong 2000 miles later although the battery might be getting a little tired or it might be the cold weather. Thanks Andy..
  20. Thanks David it looks good. How does the cable from the backpack conect to the bike, Ive seen the videos on youtube where the riders fall off but can't see the cable disconecting. Can you tell me if the motor will be a 100mm width. Can we buy direct from you as it is a kit or will we have to go through a supplier. Sorry for all the ? Andy.
  21. I think a Wisper battery will be better quality, but if it dose go wrong pop round to the shop you bought it. If a BSM battery goes wrong it is a slow boat to China. You pays your money----
