Trade disputes on Pedelecs!!!!
trade disputes? Not sure about any disputes I have found this forum very helpful. I have put together a bike that many im sure would scoff at as I did it my self and from ebay. Everyone here even dealers were very helpful and polite. I read the forum after work almost daily and find it very informative and have not seen andy seriouse bashing. Keep up the good work all.

got hit by a car today yes so far it has been a very good investment I have had a problem with the battery recently but the guy i purchased from in china is paying the shipping back to him and sending me a new one. I do check its tight so far nothing loose but did just put new pads on the brakes good thing. I got put under an audi estate today she turned right at the intersection in the rain with out a signal and hit me in the bike lane luckily we both came to a quick stop with me inside her front fender well but no damage to bike except for handle grip and had to realign the front wheel. so far so good. Luckily it was raining heavy so i had plenty of padding on and my thick gloves so no scratches but knee is a little sore tonight.

first post! electric bike power
batterys ive found on my bike which is home made i can get about 16 miles on motor alone with the 48vli-ion battery i have with out much assist and about twice that far if i do a lot of the peddling and keep it to 15mph or slower. so speed does use the battery but you i can recharge at work if i need it in about 4 hours.

just ordered the wet shoes well my bike is for sure waterproof. I took the shoes to work like sugested above and glad i did. I live in a southwest seaside city and the heavens opened up today. i was going up and down hilly streets that were more like rivers for 7 miles but outside of my shoes that were more like sponges i stayed dry except for face. And the most important part my bike didnt short out in the constant down pour.

Being saddle sore just isn't funny........
sore bum I too found that riding to work gave me a very sore bum and i did get used to it some but was still not good i then talked to a friend and went on ebay and found this: top quality memory foam big bum bike/cycle saddle/seat the best large saddle on the market it cost me 20.99 plus 2.95 for shiping and came the next day but that was before the postal strike. it is oversized a little and cut out in the right spots for comfort. since ive gotten it i dont feel sore when i get home in the evenings. i tried for almost a 1000 miles to get used to the one that came on my bike so worth a look. the seller is angpatten357.

1100 miles well ive just completed 1100 miles and so far the bike is doing well I have lost over a stone now so its even faster up the hills but i seem to peddle more and use the motor less but like today it was nice with the rain and the wind to get home a little faster watching for the deep puddles.

Overweight Rider
weight loss ive also gone from 17stone 7 to 16stone I have the 1000w 48v from ebay and ride it 5 days aweek and it does well with the hills. At first i pretty much just used the motor but now i do a lot of the peddling myself. I might in the future try out one of the pre made bikes but for now I love the one ive built

the motor kit sorry didnt realize you wanted the contact the sellers name is luckybbd he has 100% good feed back I do think that in time though I may rewire it I notice if i drive it home hard especially since there are a lot of hills on the last bit the battery cable is a little warm. nothing drastic but think in time i may put a little larger wire on it. out side of that though I love it. hope this helps

its from china the kit is the 48v li ion which came complete with rim hub tire controller throttle, and battery. there was a little damage on the cable where it came out of the rim but the supplier was right on it and sent me a new one and even included the ped electric part for free.

Landrover its their landrover model I chose it for the front suspension and it looked pretty solid. so far it has been perfect for the transplant. even the 7 gear sprocket fit perfect on the new rim that came in the kit. I might upgrade to disc brakes in the future. the ones that came with it stop it ok but i just changed the pads and not sure if the discs would last longer.

spotting other e-bikes
only seen one here here in the city i live in in devon have only seen one ebike besides mine. I think with the hills that the 200w limit is stopping them from being popular seems like this is a silly law as its the speed that matters not the power.

hair dryer yes used the hair dryer to soften the handle grip to get on and off lol. just brought it back in to make sure everything still tight and waterproof had my first ride with some rain today so far so good. It is nice to ride to get to my work it costs over £600 a year in park in ride and parking fees and with the fuel to get to park n ride will pay for itself in first year let alone that im retiring one car as it wont be used much. If its in the right mode will do about 32mph on flat ground used to take me 35-45 min to use the bus or drive to work now only 18 min from leaving to pulling into the loading dock at my work. shame no one sells or promotes them in the south west. I went to every bike shop I think in devon and couldnt even get a test drive so built my own. a few shops said they used to sell ready made but that they took most back cause they wouldnt do what it said on the tin.

pic of bike here is a pic of my bike all in it has cost me just under £800.00 including new bike, motor and 48v li-ion battery, spare break pads side sadle bags, speedometer, bike lock, and a few other bits. so not a bad deal. I am now up to 160 miles with no problems I am doing more peddling now but I dont need too as it always has plenty of reserve.

Bike Review
Reviewer:Myself Purchased From: E-Bay / Halfords Purchase Price:500 motor and battery kit Time Owned:2 weeks Local Terrain: Very Hilly ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Strengths:I purchased a 1000w kit with 48v li ion battery from china and a bike from halfords a landrover model. so far all performs perfect it can take 17stone me and two bags up very steep hills and keep it up for up to 16 miles with out much effort. so far I love it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Weaknesses:I did have to seal a few of the wire connectors and in time will replace them with better wires and sealed connectors. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Summary:it does what a e bike should do you can get there with out sweating and on the way home get some exercise and when tired the weight of your legs or less will get you up steep hills. I am now selling one car and will be using it much more. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall Rating (out of 10) :9 . __________________ cheers Russ
