  1. That's interesting and good to know I've only got a cheap ebike to get me to and from work locally so don't want to spend a lot on it. So is the cruise control actually a limiter? if it's connected it will limit the bike to 15mph?
  2. My new controller arrived today and it has 2 green Intelligent phase reconition (study line) wires coming from it. 1. What is this for? 2. Do I loop them together as it has male and female connectors or leave them apart? It also has a blue and black wire that are looped together and is described as cruise control. What is this for? Thanks in advance
  3. Thanks Nealh I have ordered one for £27 I hope it works?
  4. Found a controller on Amazon that comes with the LED display (see photo) but someone posted this review... Works Ok but if you have throttle and PAS then you can only use 1 of them. Dont bother speaking to the supplier as they know nothing about the product as they sell all kinds of other rubbish. So called PAS connector has 5V/OV/4.75v lines. Normal magnetic/hal PAS sensors need 5V/0V and the sensor line that goes from 0V to 5V as you pedal. What does he mean? I have a twist throttle which I can currently use on my old worn out display independently from the PAS. Does he mean it wont work even thought the new controller has PAS and Throttle wires?
  5. Thank you I am going to buy a new controller for the new analogue display. Will the throttle still work independently?
  6. Oh dam So if I purchased a contoller with the display it should be ok? Will all the other connections match ie Motor and hall? See photo
  7. Please help I have purchased a new led display to replace my old worn out button one. The old display had 5 wires Red black blue pink purple which corresponds to the controller. My new display has 4 wires Red black blue green. I have connected them up like this Red/red black/black Blue/pink Green/blue And have the purple wire over! Everthing works (including the throttle) accept the PAS. Now matter what speed (low med high) you put it in it doesnt change. I tried Blue/blue but the throttle didnt work. Any advice please?
  8. I am replacing my worn out LED display with a new one which has a light switch fitted (see attached) The LED display has yellow + and brown - wires coming from it for the lamp. Previously the lights was wired directly to the battery so came on as soon as you turned on the 36v battery so they were on all the time. Is it just a case of connecting the light the the positive and minus wires from the LED controller?
  9. Thank Neah I have ordered a new control panel (see below) which has a light switch. will the yellow + (brown -) wire that come out of it have power for the lights?
  10. Does it matter which black wire I use out of the 2?
  11. Silly me it looks like the red and black have broken pins. Also does it matter which black wire I use for the brakes and pas?
  12. Thanks that what I thought but am worried because the blue wire has a bigger pin attached than the red and black so couldnt have been in the same connector block originally?
  13. Ok I have connected everything up except the following. PAS has black red green wire Brake cut out has black red wires Coming out of the controller I have X2 blacks red purple blue Wires The bike is also fitted with 36v lights so I dont know if the controller caters for those the previous owner had them on all the time as soon as you turned battery on so were not connected to controller. First image shows wires coming from controller
  14. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for my 36v Controller for a 250w motor P/N 3615dlc-10y0 Its from a Pro Rider E Tourer ebike I am restoring and someone has made a right mess of connecting the wires. I thing they are also installed in the Wayfarer Pro Rider bikes. Thanks in advance
  15. You've convinced me not to go with switch but I am going to fit Anti Spark connector instead.
  16. I would like to change my Thumb throttle which currently has an on/off switch and 3 led battery level indicator lights to a key one to stop people from switching it on when I’m not about ie parked outside shops or pub. The only thing is my current thumb throttle has 6 wires going into the controller connector and the one I want to replace it with has 5 wires! Can this still be done? See photos below.
  17. Unless I can change the thumb throttle to one with a key? My current thumb throttle with 3 led power indicator and on/off switch has a 6 pin connector, the key throttle one with a key and voltage meter has 5 wires, how can I change it?
  18. That’s why I wanted a switch to cut the battery power. Every time I leave the bike to go in shop or pub people can mess about with it unless I disconnect the connectors every time which is a pain.
  19. Surely if the power is isolated on the controller side it will not spark if it is turned off when I connect the battery?
  20. I already have a push button switch on the handle bar, but it doesn't prevent the spark when I am connecting the battery to the controller connector. I want to isolate any discharge coming from the capacitors in the controller to prevent a spark when connecting the battery to it.
  21. Sorry if this has been mentioned before. I want to add an isolation switch between the battery and controller box, I know it will be high ampage so will need quite a heavy duty switch. At the moment every time I connect the 2 connectors together it makes a large spark. Would this switch be ok to use and if so do I connect it in-line using the live or negative wire?
