  1. The e-bike in that first video is definately derestricted...
  2. Some really weaselly comments in this thread. Pedelecs going down hill again.
  3. My trailer is still going strong- original cost was £75 from ebay. It has moved a bog (that pic was taken while waiting in the queue at the recyling centre), sink and pedastal in another load. Heaviest to date was a cut up door and a load of soggy chipboard from old kichen cupboards. Think I exceeded the 40Kg supposed limit with that lot. PS the incredulous looks give way (after a while) to approving glances. As one of the attendants at the recycling centre remarked "you can fit quite a lot in that!".
  4. I have the bikybox. Bought to hold a second phylion battery so will be big enough for a helmet unless you have a big head like me. Has a small hole for a padlock.
  5. Changing C2 from 0 to 1 and the hub became silent. Will test properly later in the week. Many thanks for the help vfr40
  6. Sorry, I missed that I missed that in your previous message. That will keep me occupied this week going through the combinations! Many thanks for the help. Incorrect combinations can damage the motor?
  7. I connected like to like as per the attached. You talking about the 3 (blue, green & yellow) bullet ended connectors?
  8. Are KT sinewave controllers supposed to make the motor produce a sound reminiscent of a dentists drill? Just turned a few heads going down the towpath while testing it out! Sound was worse at low speed and when using lower than 3 PAS levels, reduced to a 'quiet' whine at 12mph. Also noticed that the battery usage seemed higher than under the old speed controller (admittedly I did keep that at 1 when on the towpath). If I cannot silence the beast, the old speed controller will be going back on and there will be KT controller, LCD & PAS going up for sale on the forum.
  9. Ah OK. There was no LCD before - just LED so that makes sense. Will try 0
  10. Sensor should be internal from the motor as I understand things 6 wires from motor cable, connected to the white connector P2 set to currently to 6. Wll try 1 now
  11. Incorrect setting for C1. Set to 5 and PAS works Not getting a speed on the display?
  12. OK parts delivered & fitted. PAS has a red light when rotating crank but gives no pedal assist? Motor turns when using throttle (P4 st to 0). Motor W oscillates on the LCD3, increases to aound 60 before reducing back to 30 Used this vid for settings (I left everything to default P1 = 87): Checked motor leads are pushed in all the way up to arrow marked on the connector. Any ideas? Hub motor has following on case (think from reading this forum it may be MXUS): DC36v700C250W19F0620 H
  13. Controller Display Using the following will allow reusing existing motor cable? 50cm Julet 9Pin Waterproof Extension Cable for Brushless Hub Motor to KT Controller Going by the connectors shown on the images for the controller on the torquetch wbsite, my existing PAS & brake sensors will work as the connectors is the same?
  14. Thank you for replying Nealh Here are photos of the connector at the hub end Think the penny has dropped; I will need a new cable runnng to the hub from the new controller!
  15. Hi I would like to upgrade the controller from the current speed controller the ebike came with (E-plus commute 27.5" folder from Argos). From reading this forum, the KT 250w sinewave controller and LCD3 are recommended. Will the KT be compatible with the wiring shown in the attached photo of the current controller? From what I can see from photos of the KT controller, that does not have the thick black cable coming out of the controller shown in the first photo and connects to what I think is the motor cable. Many thanks in advance
  16. I was looking for a quill suspension stem on ebay and spotted the attached. Was unused and still in original box. Works a treat on Powys poorly maintained roads. My front hub motored bike was bouncing all over the shop. My 70 odd kg was obviously not enough to keep it in contact with the road. I had visions of being bounced into oncoming traffic. The suspension stem has solved that. Pity the company went out of business in 2008 as it is a solid bit of kit.
  17. You have tested the replacement battery? I have had a few at work that although 'new' have expired. Does sound like a hardware issue though so good that still in warranty
  18. Moved the display too far from the receiver e.g. raising the handlebars? The ALDI £5 cycle computer I have uses bluetooth and looks similar to the cateye I was looking at. Bluetooth is very range dependent so move the receiver closer to the display (max 30cm on mine). Also the magnet on the spoke needs to be less than 5mm to be registered when it passes the transmitter.
  19. Not quite that extreme. Thinking about it more, if it was a conversion kit on his bike he probably had more gears to play with than I do with the 7-speed which with informaton on this forum I have changed from a 28-14t to a more welsh hill friendly 34-14t.
  20. I was overtaken by another e-bike this evening. Some hybrid/mtb type, possibly a kit or derestricted as he must have been doing 20+ mph. Admittedly I was slowing down to turn left when he went wizzing past but I am sure he put it in turbo when he saw me up ahead.
  21. What was Harry doing with his other arm?
  22. What is so special about Suffolk Chavs that the rozzers require an Apache?
