  1. Looked at sduro yesterday but at£2700 for one with a decent spec. I can get a used xduro all mountain around the £1500 mark. One sold on eBay last week having only covered 60 miles for £1500. There's one up at present albeit a bit dearer but with quite a few desirable upgrades.
  2. I had setmy sights on the Haibike but the opportunity of a new Storck Carbon at well under half price came up . But after the Kalkhoffs which I nearly shook to bits it has to be something built for rough trails and not roads. Looked at the Cubes but they look like someone's knocked one up in a garage. What I'm after is a bike that was built purely as an electric bike not a mountain bike with add ons and able to take rough terrain. So far only the Haibike seems to fit the bill.
  3. Been to look at Haibikes today and decision made. Prices are ridiculous though so will be buying a used one.
  4. not been on for a while but I' ve owned a Whisper Sport ,Kalkhoff pro connect disc and a Kalkhoff BS10. The Whisper I found was made using cheap components so changed to a second hand Kalkhoff pro connect which I liked. So decide to treat myself to New BS 10 which for some reason I never got on with. I think the trails I used were just not suited to the Kalkhoffs. I was set on a Haibike xduro but have been offered an ex demo Storck multi road carbon fibre at a really good price. Any body had either of these?
  5. I also live in West Yorkshire,in the Pennines. I had exactly the same problems of what to choose because of all the hills! Eventually I went for the Wisper 905 Sport because of the better range offerered. So far it's got me up whatever I've pointed it at. Probably more effort needed than a crank drive, but I am far from what you would call fit:D The nearest dealer with a good range I found was Valley Scooters of Bolton.
  6. Hello David The components just aren't up to the quality of my MTB however the chap at Valley Scooters has obviously reassured me as to there quality and warranty. Hopefully it will live up to the fantastic reputation they have. Mike
  7. Rightly or wrongly after quizzing the chap at Valley Scooters in Bolton again (very helpful chap) we now own a Wisper Sport 14A and a Powacycle Windsor 10 A.
  8. I think I like the look of the Emotion Cross. I can see £1400 in the high quality components used there. It climbs hills too:)
  9. Trying isn't all that simple. My nearest dealer is 35miles away and there I tried a Wisper. Most of the multi franchise dealers are much further away. I don't want to go ahead with the Wisper, which try as I might cannot justify their price for the components used, if I can get a better allrounder that is worth that type of money.
  10. Am I right in thinking that the best ready made bike to achieve the best of both the above is the Wisper 14A? My commute is 25miles involving crossing the Pennines(2 long climbs each way) Thanks Mike
  11. How do you find the Alien on it's hill climbing ability and range?
  12. Having now seen and ridden a Wisper 905 sport 14 amp I think this is now the way foward, probably make the Cube redundant though. I now just have to work out if the Wisper can justify being over twice the price of the Alien:)
  13. Very ugly looking though. A child could engineer better support brackets.
