Poll and Juvenile riders
That did make my laugh, just like they really want to reduce vehicle fuel duty. All the main parties are signed up to reducing our co2 footprint, to do that our electricity bills need more VAT.

16 Mile Towpath commute,is it realistic?
Hi I did a 40 mile round trip charity cycle ride on a tow path, it was good, all flat. But you are meant to dismount at bridges; if you did it every day you might get complaints if you wizz along at speed.

fully discharge?
Hi If people understand their batteries, I think that they can look after them better, so I am asking about AA batteries that are rechargable. I saw a charger for sale that fully discharges the batteries before they are recharged. Is this a lot better than just recharging? My work has had problems with the electrics on their minibuses, resulting in the 12v batteries going flat when they are not used for 3 days. And then if they are fully discharged for more than a week, the battery needs replacing. Even batteries that are less than 6 months old, when fully discharged for a week are no good. Just goes to show how much TLC batteries do need. S

Keeping your personal information personal
Hi I had over £1,000 debited from my Nationwide account, fully refunded by Nationwide. Can you imagine how many people would close their online account if they were not safe? My number was gained as a result of payment for fuel; using ceiling video cameras. It was in the local papers.

Cedric Lynch on TV
I saw that too. What efficiency rate do 'ordinary' motors achieve? Lynch motor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia He's developed his own kind of kind of algebra to do that but no other academic can understand what he's doing. LOL

If it ain't nailed down...
I once had a front wheel pinched from my front yard, rest of the bike was locked to a lawnmower and tree.

E-bikes will not exist in 10 years time
Mass personal trnsport will always be taxed, and cycles should always be regulation free. As long as e-bikes are slow, they will be classed as cycles. And it will be a very long time before cars are any where near zero emmissions! I cannot afford a car, maybe I can afford a petrol scooter. I have thought it, but with my e-bike all local journies are almost free, and busses used for longer journies. S

Tread Patterns
Hi If you never go off road, lack of knobbly tread does not affect the grip of the tyre; it sounds odd, but I believe its true. Bike tyres dont suffer from aqua-planning like car tyres because of the small ammount of tyre that touches the road. :-) S

Halfords - not impressed. The Bicycle Workshop - very impressed.
Hi I have seen electric bikes in Halfords, must have been a small store. They should have told u where to get one. My experience with Halford has always been ok, but their younger staff are bound to be less experienced.

Things on your helmet - dangerous?
I think that the reason motor cycle helmets are round and smooth is quite clear. and cycle helmets with bits that stick out is not a good thing.

Does anyone make money out of me?
I wouldnt have thought so, but given that most people give information to help people, maybe its a price worth paying. Yesturday I came across a not-for-profit energy company, it was £4 per year cheaper than my current supplier, but there was another one £40 cheaper. Elecricity supplier Ebico is not for profit How much of a socialist are YOU? S

I'm not stopping for zebra crossings
If you say that people waiting dont know that you are going to stop, then neither do cars behind you, untill you stop. They shouldnt overtake if they cannot see, but the roads are full of people rushing too much. S

I'm not stopping for zebra crossings
Hi If you are cycling up to a zebra crossing then prehaps vehicles behind cannot see if anyone is waiting? S

battery powered scooter
Just thinking about trying to get her outdoors more, more exercise, but this could make her walk less; just a pavement scooter. Just fun, and not for the roads. S

Bike security - 13mm or 16mm D-lock
Hi I just use a cheap Tesco combination lock, but its always brought inside overnight. Is one lock enough if someone really wants to steal it? I have had just one wheel go missing when I used to leave my cycle outside overnight. S

Battery Power?
Hi Just as a follow on from the op,s question. I have measured the voltage of my battery, 24v. The fully charged voltage is 26:3v . I am thinking this should be higher, but i only do short journies, so its been ok. It dropped to 24v after just a four mile trip. S

35mile winter commute - help
Hi Altho i tend to agree that the distance required is too far for an electric cycle, izips carry two batterries on their rear rack. Unless the op is doing this for environmental reasons, a scooter built for longer distances might be just as cheap as a cycle. S

charging new lifepo4
My eleven yr old daughter sits on the back of my bike, difficult to know how the battery and motor should perform. I do make it to the top of the hills now, i do struggle on the push bike, lol.

Is it OK to leave charger plugged in & on?
Hi On my 24v charger there is a red light on the charger when the battery is very low, when plugged in its red, then flashing red/green and then green. Is it ok to leave the charger on for long periods? If it just needs an hours charge, can I plug it in on a morning and then will it be ok untill I get back after 5 o'clock. S

izip 24v replacememt
Hi When I opened up the 24v case, it was wet inside, I initially thought it was just wet - but I now think it was eletrolyte from the battery itself. So I am still thinking about replacing with 2x12v batteries, maybe 7.2ah will be better than what I have? S
