Cyclamatic Power Plus
Bike is three years old and has completed about 3500 miles. It has been updated with Suntour XCR front forks C/W 180 mm disk brake, Tektro caliper and the forks have a remote lock out. There is a rear rack and lights, saddle pouch and speed computer included. There are other fitments that can be discussed. A new battery has been fitted. The original battery is available and good for about 10 miles easy riding. Spares include original front and rear wheels including tyres, the original forks, chain and spare V brakes to match the wheel. £350. Phone Richard on 07881647648. Will deliver free within 20 miles of CW12. Otherwise, please collect.

Speed
------------- It's quite hilly in this part of Cheshire so down to 5 or 6 mph is regular. However when rolling along fairly level lanes, the speed keeps to about 17 mph. The rolling average normally is about 14 mph but as soon as I go out with the young grandchildren it drops dramatically to about 8. On long journeys I try and keep the bike above the cut off speed of the controller for as long as possible, which increases distance and hopefully keeps me fitter. Bike is a 30 month old Cyclamatic Power Cycle. The battery is on it's last legs now giving me about10 miles. I've ridden about 3,000 mile on the bike. A new one will be ordered when they become available. This seems to be taking some time, but that's another issue.

Cyclamatic rear hub motor servicing help
I recently bought a whole wheel from SportHQ including brake assembly, tyre and inner tube all assembled with a warning to keep tyre pressure up to 60 psi for £60. All nicely boxed and carriage included. The surprise for me was that the wheel was not central in the bike and I found loose spokes. I used a wheel stand to pull the wheel across and even out the spoke tensions and it rides better than the original wheel. I'll never understand SportHq pricing policy.

Do you leave your battery on the bike when you lock it?
Yes always. The bike is a Cyclamatic Powerplus. The battery is locked intyo the frame and cannot be removed without the key. The saddle has been replaced as has the sabble subframe so the tip forward mechanism is no longer there. The seat post is an after market suspension unit. The rear carrier would have to be removed to get anywhere near the battery. The quick release has been replaced with an allan key clamp. The battery is charged on the bike. It ghas been attacked by someone who tgought they could break into the key lock but they failed. The original key still works. I've had the bke for two years now. I expect to renew the battery in March 2012.

Electricity usage question.
Dimmers I sometimes wonder if dimmers don't just dump the unwanted power somewhere else rather than the light bulb.

AlienOcean Aurora thingy??
It is possibly the connection cable for the front light. A bit of an odd way to do it but it must work!

Change of battery voltage
Thanks NRG. I think I'll keep the bike as it is. The bike is a Cyclamatic as supplied by SportsHQ and as such I have little technical backup. It was an economical way into eBiking which has now grown on me. My next bike will be one that is supplied from a closer to home retailer.

Change of battery voltage
All this talk of battery voltages and ampage has left me totally in the dark. The question that would be worth answering if possible is: Would a 36 volt battery replacing a 24 volt battery cause problems with the controller and/or the motor (I asume all components are intercompatable within one bike model design) and if it's OK would it improve performance ie Torque?

Cyclamatic
Has anyone got parts for the Cyclamatic Power Cycle. I'm interrested mainly in the rear wheel assembly and component parts such as brake shoes and gear sets, the control unit and the handlebar twistgrip control. If poss, reply with cost and location. I'm in Cheshire. Regards Richard Bardsley.

Kalkhoff Pro Connect S XT 2010
The Aston Martin must not exceed 70mph. It is not governed to that speed. I agree with all else you said but the point is that to ride on British roads we all should be subject to safety legislation. To exceed 70 mph in a car is far more serious offence than not using pedals to activate a motor that will assist the rider. So power assist (twist and go) I feel should be available to ebike riders.

legal illigal sooo what If technical limits are imposed on ebikes to limit their application ie going faster than 15 mph, must pedal to activate motor, limit motor to 250 kwatts etc. then the legilators would have to put limitors and govenors on Aston Martins and Ford Kai's. It's the same thing. If I take my ebike onto a private track then I should be able to coast with power at 20 mph. Surely, thats not too much to ask? Is It? A quick poll around my youger colleagues suggests they wouldn't be seen dead on a Ebike. Well thats their loss isn't it? I did point out that I probabely get work using less power than the use of a starter motor to start their cars but I suppose you can't romance your girlfriend on the back of a pushbike.

Bionx kit in the UK
Bionx bike sand kit but not in the UK and legislation All the messages for this item seem to be about two years old but are worthy of revisiting. Having seen the Bionx website and read various comments fom users of this forum and others it seems a shame that such a bike or conversion kit is not available to us. Has anything happened to change this in the last two years. I've been reading the legislative notes regarding the changing specification of pedilectric bikes for the UK and see that Twist and Go is to outlawed. What a shame, it's what makes electric bikes so good to ride apart from etc etc etc.
