Himo Z20 might be worth you having a look at as well. As I have posted on another thread my neighbours bought a couple earlier in the year and having had a look at them they seem pretty well specced for the money. They've been pleased and have no issues so far .

What about having a look at the Fiido D4S 20" wheel folder at around £700 on Amazon (or better the Fiido D11 although thats just under the £1000). Also there is the Himo Z20 folder at around £800. My neighbours (both in their 60s) bought a couple and have been very pleased with them and have put a far few miles on them. Seem pretty well specced for the money

Have a look at the Ampere Tourer S (looks great in the Teal colour) or if you want a full stepthrough the Ampere Deluxe. We've just bought the Tourer and Tourer S from the EcoBikeCo and had great service from Jarred. Seem to be good spec bikes for the money. Weigh around 22kg incl battery so not too heavy for Hybrid with front fork suspension, full mudguards and rear rack. The standard model has a 10.6 amp hour battery and costs around £1250. We went for the bigger 16ah ones to give us longer (or be lazy and use more assist lol) plus the LCD controller upgrade (cost £1450). Haven't given them a full run out yet due to weather and illness but I'm happy with my Tourer so far based on a quick 4 mile trip (at an average of 12mph...far quicker than I'd have done it on my manual bike).

Fitted the Doobacks at the weekend...certainly makes a big difference being able to see a decently wide view behind me. Very pleased with them so thanks for the heads up Pentium (or whatever you seem to be being called now....what did i miss???)

For a bit of info my neighbours have just bought themselves a couple of Himo Z20's (they got them via Amazon in case of any issues). They are very pleased with them and find them comfortable, especially as the 20" wheels and fairly wide chunky tyres help minimise the bumps in the roads. Their main concern is the weight ((20/21kg) as they are too heavy for the wife to manhandle when folded which could limit some of their intended uses. I had a quick look over them yesterday and they look a decent spec for the money (10ah battery, mech discs, neat internal battery housing, easy folding) and look quite stylish and well made. I suspect,however, that they may not be strictly legal as pedal assist only operates in Eco mode (and assist only up to 15kph) and then you have to use the twist grip throttle to utilise mid and high assist (and no need to turn the pedals). A YouTube review i came across suggests that the battery only lasts 25km using throttle only (which doesn't seem great for a 10ah battery on a 36v system) and the assist even on high topped out at only 20 kph, but it looked as if it was quite hilly so that might have been a factor. My neighbours have only done a couple of flattish 8km rides but said that they only lost 1 of the 5 bars each time so hopefully for their sake that review was inaccurate, otherwise I fear they'll be disappointed with the range.

Just ordered 2 Dooback2s for our bikes from Fawkes Cycles for £7.65 each. Added in some lube and glueless puncture repair patches, both of which I need anyway, to bring it just over £20 and so qualify for free postage. Hope the mirrors are as good as Pentium says.

It does seem that you can take out Bike Insurance as a separate product without having to have their home or buildings products...odd I know. Anybody come across any issues with the Barclays bike insurance. It just seems remarkable value given you can take it out without having a main home policy and that it covers TPL as well. £20 for both our bikes vs £110-130plus with the usual standalone ebike insurers. Just surprised it doesn't come up on sites like MoneySavingExpert and in articles about cheap bike insurance.

Now we've ordered ours, I can see that ecobikecompany still have a couple in stock you might want to have a look at the Ampere Tourer with 16ah battery as this should have the range you're looking for and has a pretty good spec for the money.
